2014 Volkswagen Passat Reviews

My car is very comfortable to drive and is way smoother than anything else I have driven before. The wheel is smaller and feels soft, I love my seats with all the adjustments it can make. The only problem I feel is that it is longer and it scares me to parallel park. Also, the speakers hurt my ears when a song with more bass plays, however that could’ve been because of the previous owner. Overall, I do love this car and would suggest it to anyone.

I have the turbo diesel engine and although the car definitely has some pep its delayed acceleration makes for frustration. Also this model year is in the Volkswagen recall for misleading exhaust emissions. It has been modified to Volkswagen's recommendation. This particular model also has a faulty heater core that Volkswagen will repair at no cost to the consumer. Only other complaint is that they're expensive to maintain and have work done on them. Otherwise it's a stable, reliable 4 door sedan with good headroom and ample leg room. Suspension is good for a small sedan and it handles well. The best feature is definitely the awesome gas mileage 32 mpg in the city and 40 mph on the highway. I rate the car at 3 out of 5 and encourage any buyers to definitely do research on the car and don't buy one without having a thorough car history on it.

I like my car. It drives great and I get complimented on it regularly. However, it has had quite a few sensor problems. From the tires to the lights, every time one thing gets fixed, another problem (and sometimes a previous problem) occurs. I also do not like my local VW dealership. They do every job half-assed and that is only after waiting months to get an appointment. Instead of trying to understand the problem to repair it properly the first time, they are hell-bent on trying to get me to trade-in my car for a new one.

Several friends said "don't buy it. Lease it. Because the repairs will be expensive." I should have listening. My 2014 until last month (August 2020) had no issues; only maintenance I performed was a new battery in June. Then ... Engine and EPC lights kept coming on. Engine misfires, poor throttle. Had new plugs and ignition coils installed ($500). One week later, same problem. Replaced NAPA parts with dealer/mfr parts. One week later - same problem. Now the engine coolant light is flashing. Leak somewhere getting the #1 ignition coil wet. Head gasket issues? I only have 58,000 miles on this car (mostly work from home) and my power train warranty expired November 2018; purchased the car new Oct. 2013. Really unhappy about this.

My Volkswagen passat is my first car and I’d say that it was definitely a perfect first car. The safety ratings are amazing! I have gotten in one fender bender and there wasn't much damage to the car. It has amazing gas mileage, I drive it about 30-40 miles a day and fill it up twice a month at most (which only costs around $35-$40 where I live). It has been extremely reliable for me over the past 2 years with very few problems, only oil changes and putting new tires on once. Very comfortable with leather heated seats and huge backseat space (the trunk is also massive). Mine is the tdi type meaning it is turbo injected, so it is pretty quick for being a modern sedan. Brakes work incredible too. Overall an amazing car, I love it!

My passat drives well, is comfortable, is reliable, and gets excellent gas mileage. It is roomy enough for my 6'2' husband to drive it without feeling cramped, and has a much bigger trunk that one would expect in a mid-size car. The back seat is comfortable for 2 and will seat 3 if necessary. The only thing I do not like about the car is that it does not have a backup camera, which would be a huge help to me, but those were not standard in 2014. I have had few repairs to deal with, and just replaced the tires and battery last year. The air conditioner and heater work very well, and I find the cruise control system and windshield wipers easy to operate. The radio and CD player have good sound, and the car is quiet enough on the road to be able to hear them easily. I have been very pleased with the passat. It will be my first choice to look at when it is time to replace my car so long as I can find a model with a backup camera.

My 2014 Volkswagen Passat is a really good car. It runs real smooth and it is very spacious. When I first got the car, there were some issues such as bad tires, no oil change, bad brakes and a bad battery. The previous owner never got the car maintained so I was left with those problems. After getting those issues fixed, car started running great. But it seemed like gas was running out pretty quickly. After getting tune up, it started to run smoothly. Maintenance costs for this car is pretty expensive. My car has Bluetooth capabilities that I love. I can connect my iPhone and listen to music and YouTube. My car doesn't have the touch screen radio that some 2014 Volkswagen cars have. There is also a feature where there is a Siri like voice command system in the car where you can make phone calls, play music or play satellite radio. The dashboard shows you how many miles you have in gas and it shows you how many miles you have altogether. It also shows you the time and the weather. As previously stated, this car is spacious. You can pull driver and passenger seats back and slide both seats back and forth. This is an airbag above the radio. The air and heat runs pretty nice. You have knobs where you can adjust how strong it blows, how hot/cold it blows and where it blows. Defrost works a little slow but it's manageable. This is no sunroof on this car. It has two car port chargers under the radio and inside arm rest. The backseat is spacious. It's easy to attach car seats. Up to three people can sit in the back. There are child locks on both doors. All doors lock automatically once inside. If you leave keys inside the car or in the ignition, the doors will not lock. Trunk is very spacious. It had a spare tire with tools and jumper cables included.

Generally it is an outstanding car. It is comfortable, ergonomic, and so far has been very reliable. I love the heated seats, and the turbo acceleration. The power train is a bit unrefined, I e. Really smooth starts are tricky. I actually like that aggressiveness. Also, the brakes are on the touchy side it is not the best handling car; the Jetta I had handled better. It tends to oversteer, if I understand that term. So far, with great mileage and just standard maintenance it is been very economical to own. I wish it had navigation, and that the Bluetooth integrated better with my phone, so when using navigation it used the car speakers, but I have not been able to get that to work (android phone).

I bought by car with 50,000 miles on it and so far it has been very reliable. I have had one issue with it so far where the heater core had to be replaced but fortunately this was a relatively easy process compared to other cars. The seat warmers in the vehicle are very nice on cold days but on warm days a black interior heats up very fast and can be uncomfortable at first. The a/c works very well and there are also adjustable vents in the back seats so your extra passengers stay cold/ warm.

My vehicle is everything I need. 4 door, plenty of room for my family of 4. Trunk is a decent size to haul what I need. My son does different sports throughout the year and everything fits perfectly. Drives great, very smooth on the road. I have hands free option which makes it nice to make or accept calls without getting distracted. It's all leather which makes it easy to clean. It can be a tad pricey for things to be fixed but not horrible. They are sleek looking cars. I will honestly try to stay with buying Volkswagen vehicles in the future!

I love this car. It is 5 years old and still runs great with no issues. Seats are comfortable and has some upgraded features like seat warmers that make it even better. The trunk is huge for a smaller car and has a lot of storage space. The only thing I do not like is because it is several years old it has a dedicated iPod jack to listen to music, but it only fits older generation ipods so it makes it worthless to me. However it does have Bluetooth music and calling.

The passat from this era is a fantastic vehicle, providing a strong 3.2l v6 engine with outstanding performance. It is truly fun to drive and combines with a lot of high-end luxury features. It is essentially an Audi 6 of the same year, with a VW nameplate and costing $20,000 or more less. Unfortunately, in the current year, this particularly trim and engine size has been discontinued, which would make me look for another model whenever I choose to replace my current vehicle.

The passat is an extremely sturdy vehicle, and yet has incredible performance for a midsize sedan. The 6 cylinder engine provides amazing power for maneuvering, overtaking other vehicles, scaling mountainous roads, and just plain fun. The interior is filled with luxury amenities, and has fantastic legroom. The trunk is very spacious, with twin fold-down seats, making the passat very useful for occasional hauling of longer items. The sound system is top notch, with connectivity to a variety of devices as well as an integrated 20GB hard drive for storing music. High comfort, high performance, high elegance in styling, high fun. The passat is essentially and Audi 6 for half the cost.
