Great car that is awesome to drive.
It is great and fun to drive. No major reliability problems to speak of. Comfort is good for a sports hatch.

The great joy of owning an r32.
The VW 2004 golf r32 is an amazing vehicle, limited edition, performance orientated and definitely not for someone who views cars as only basic transportation!! The heart and Soul of the r32 is a 241 horse beautiful 3. 2 liter variable valve motor with a dual overhead cams which generates the most incredible sound when it is on song. Mated to a 6 speed quick shift transmission with all wheel drive mounted on 225/40x18 tires. The grip of the of the continental sport contact tire is orgasmic and inspiring. The front brakes are what is called a "hated roster" meaning the interior of the rotor is lighter thereby reducing the unsprung weight of the wheel and tire. The oversized caliper and brake pad combination allow for reduced stopping distances. The steering wheel is thicker and has indents for your thumbs which allows for a solid feel for directing the vehicle while allowing for increased feedback from the road surface. You sit securely wrapped in leather racing seats which hold you tightly even during your spirited driving on the track or road. I routinely find myself on a mountain pass with a very large grin on my face.

Daily Driver and road cruiser
After having a good amount of miles since it is now a 15 year old car it will have maintenance issues and tensioner belt issues but the car is so fun to drive. It handles great, power is awesome and noise is there. Overall it is a great car. The only downside is emptying your wallet for maintenance let alone any mods you want to do to the car.
