The comfortable and stable Volkswagen tiguan.
It's very reliable as it has never broken down and has come in handy in being very spacious as well as a good music system and a good suspension. Overall it has been a very solid car for many years without any problems. I find myself always using the seat warmers and the air conditioning has always worked.

It is awesome! Love our Routan.
It is roomy, feels safe and great view from driver's seat. Children can watch movies on 2 DVD players. Love the moon/sunroof. The automatic doors and locks a great feature. The van has a great value and is running well after 10 years. It is simply the best!

I love the black interior.
I love the inside layout of the seats and compartments. It has a comfy feel! I added a new radio with apple CarPlay which really makes it look new. It is a 2010 but does not seem like it at all. It is fast and does not burn through gas. I love it. I have had a few problems with oil leaks, though.

2010 Volkswagen tiguan- overall great but could use a bigger back window.
I have had no problems with my car so far. I think it is very comfortable, and the seat warmers is a luxury I have not experienced until this car. It is reliable- I am a student and my campus is three hours away. The Bluetooth sometimes takes a while to connect which can be frustrating, but once it is connected I have no problems. Ac and heating work. There is a GPS but I prefer to use my phone. I do wish the back window was bigger to see more when I am backing up. Overall, I really enjoy my car!

Well-taken care of 10 year old tiguan.
Reliability is very high because car is well-taken care of. Seats are comfortable and all-around adjustable. Performance is up to par only the wheels sometimes skid even when it is not raining. When snow car may skid severely and you have to pull emergency brake.

Ease and comfort: Volkswagen tiguan.
The car drives really well, with smooth acceleration and braking. It is spacious in the back and front seats. The trunk has a lot of room with a covering for aesthetic purposes. The car also has good gas mileage and is reliable. Problems include battery malfunction, but that is rare.

Best driving car I have ever owned
Drives very well, comfortable seats, plenty of helpful features, decent stereo, good amount of legroom for backseat, nice sized trunk space, perfect little car! Absolutely in love with mine, only small grievance is the gas mileage as well as the fact that it takes premium oil. Makes getting gas rather expensive

Safe, adventurous, speed.
It can speed very fast if you want, it makes you feel secure, also adventurous, you can speed or also be safe in a travel with the family. The system is great, it adapts to your phone and the maps is amazing, also have cameras to drive so you can see, the air conditioner is amazing.

It has a lot of parts that are recalled on it. You have to put premium gas in it which is expensive.
It is an awful car and I would not but it again. Ever since i bought it i have had problems with it. I just put a new engine in it and my check engine light it already back on.

Worst Car ever
Purchased this as a starter car for my daughter. Told it was very reliable car with no problems. One year later and after putting $1700.00 into the car in 2 weeks was told the engine needed to be replaced due metal in the engine. Dealership working with volkswagen first told us the cost to replace the whole engine was $3k. Today told that volkswagen will not honor the warranty unless we replace everything in the engine that oil run through which would cost around 8-10K . There was a class action suit filed against volkswagen on this model because of the metal in the engine. Looks like a call to the state attorney generals office is in my future . I will never purchase another volkswagen.

Any thing mechanical
This car was a total lemon from the beginning, many engine problems, problem with the transmission, timing belt, the list goes on. Final blow was when I took it in for it's last service and they took it for a test drive after completing the service and had an accident and wrote off the car from the damage. Never again will I buy a Volkswagen.

Panoramic sunroof. Reverse camera. Beige leather seats.
Many turbo, mechanical, electrical problems. Along with eating fuel like no other and expensive repair cost. Sat does not work without a diagnostic, when there is obvious electrical/connection issues along with outlets for your music to phone connection does not work well for this years model.

My car is a 2010 Volkswagen Tiguan
The reason that I don't like my car is Well at 130000 the rear main seal needs to be changed or all your oil will spill out. I don't really like Volkswagen the parts are expensive and they cost more to fix. I have had so many problems with it and I just got it. I highly don't recommend anyone buying one

It's a crossover. It is a good car for small family. It has good safety ratings
I like the size of my car. I like the overall drive. I do not like how expensive it is to fix and gas is not that great.

Compact, stylish and reliable SUV.
Water leaking issue which led to water accumulating into car. Dealership still unable to find where leak is. Other than that, it's a comfortable compact SUV. However, storage is a tad on the smaller side, baby stroller occupies it all if that gives a sense of size.

My model actually has a screen, it does not have a backup camera.
I sometimes had problems with the coolant and little things like that which were thankfully fixable. Otherwise I love this car so much, the Bluetooth sometimes acts up, but again nothing major. It is a great safe car if you are looking for an SUV. I highly recommend.

Pros from Owners

likeFilled Brian P.

The Tiguan is spacious, decent on gas mileage, and very reliable. It is a very quiet car with plenty of storage. The oversized sunroof is great for passengers to stargaze, and keeps things bright during the day.

Cons from Owners

dislikeFilled Brian P.

All Volkswagens are very expensive to fix, and they are a pain to deal with repairs. They require special tools that usually only certified Volkswagen dealers carry. The customer service for Volkswagen is horrible. I will never purchase a Volkswagen as long as I live due to this fact.

Is The 2010 Volkswagen Tiguan A Good Car?

Considered that it was already used and was in a couple accidents, the vehicle works very well and so far I have had no problems with the car.
Julia R.
Yes. It’s a great size, drives well, and offers multi-purpose function between driving city streets and mountain roads. The primary downside is the cost of repairs.
Brian H.

How Reliable Is The 2010 Volkswagen Tiguan?

The car is very reliable. It does not demonstrate anything wrong with the car and if there was an issue, it would show up in the dashboard.
Julia R.
It has needed two expensive repairs in the past year, which has decreased its reliability. However, I would never expect this car to stop working without any warning.
Pam M.

We bought the car used, so it was $12,000. For that price l, it has been worth the value. However, the cost of repairs adds an additional $5000 to total costs.
