Fuel efficient, healthy car for sports oriented owner
My Volvo V40 is the best car I have ever owned! It is an old vehicle but I purchased it new in 2002 and am loathe to give it up for a new car. I kayak and canoe and it carries any of my four watercrafts easily with the Euro rails and the Volvo canoe/kayak rack. The back seats fold down to make a large inside cargo space that I fill up with my paddles, life jackets, etc. Even though it is a 2002 model it gets approximately 30 miles to the gallon and uses 89 octane gas for even better fuel savings. I have rarely spent money on repairs. I have it serviced at all mileage checkpoints and have the oil changed regularly. It is a great car all the way around. I also have episodic asthma and the HEPA filter keeps the air inside the car clean and healthy. I used to have an asthma attack every time it rained when I drove my older car to work. With this V40 that is not the case. I highly recommend this car!

Pluses and minuses of the Volvo v40.
Being unable to see the front corners of our Volvo makes it difficult to get close to the curb when parking. I like the trunk compartment of the car, as it serves as a station wagon as well as sedan. The v40 is fine for people 6 ft. And under but is cramped for taller people.
