Problems found on the 2007 Tahoe include excessive oil consumption, stability control problems, and cracked dashes.
Excessive oil consumption in the engine is the most common complaint showing up at roughly 100,000 miles. There are several sources to the problem, and the most serious are pistons and rings, which cost over $2,000. Some owners top-off the oil every 1,000 miles to keep it full.
Stabilitrak lights turning on happen on many Tahoes at around 70,000 miles. The problem is usually caused by a failed sensor for the system, which costs about $500 to replace.
Cracked dashboards are a widespread complaint from owners in the first 75,000 miles. Some owners place a cover on the dash for under $100, and others replace the dash, which costs around $1,000.

A well-maintained 2007 Tahoe will last around 200,000 miles, about 100,000 miles shorter than a top-rated competitor like the Toyota Sequoia. Regular annual maintenance costs are a bit more than some rivals at $527 per year, according to Repair Pal.
Most 2007 Tahoes will have over 100,000 miles, so buyers should be prepared to replace the ignition control module for $325, the brake master cylinder costing $400, and the mass airflow sensor which costs $250.
It is. Minor work required. Mainly maintenance. We have over 200,000 miles. And still use it to travel long distances.
Yes. It is very reliable; I haven't had any serious issues. Just normal maintenance such as oil changes; brakes; thermostat, etc.
It has had some mechanical issues with the motor. We fixed it once, then the part went out again just after the warranty was done and we ended up having to replace the entire engine. That was very frustrating. We were told this was a common problem with similar vehicles. I mentioned the cupholders in the middle seats are not functionable. Not a huge problem, just annoying. Also, when filling up with fuel, the pump constantly clicks off and must be restarted. It is always done this. I guess it is just one of it is quirks.
It does has some issues and the dashboard the lights go out they black out that you cannot see the warnings.
So far it is been pretty reliable we have not encounter any major problems. Just the basic like battery. But then again we always make sure we keep it up to date maintenance.
Some of the Tahoe have the 5.3 ls with DoD. The DoD system is prone to malfunctioning and damaging the engine, requiring a rebuild-- other than that it is very reliable.
So far this Tahoe has been very reliable to me. One of a few downfalls I find is the motor burns oil a lot faster and harder than other vehicles. This is due to the side of the Chevy motor in their. I have to keep a very close eye on the oil levels and have my oil changed every 3000 miles. If I do not I have noticed the performance is not as good. Gas mileage is not the best. Could work on that.
It has been very reliable overall. Any minor issues were easily solved by my husband so we have enjoyed the dependability.

What Colors Does the Tahoe Come In?
How Big Is the Tahoe?
The 2007 Tahoe is a large SUV similar in size to rivals including the Dodge Durango and GMC Yukon. Passenger room is great throughout the cabin, but some taller adults may find the third row cramped.
Cargo space is excellent, offering 16.9 cubic feet of room behind the third row, 60.3 behind the second, and up to 108.9 with all the rear seats folded flat or removed.
How Does the Tahoe Compare to the Competition?
The GMC Yukon is a close competitor, which costs about $1,000 less. Interior materials are nicer on the Yukon, but the Tahoe performs better off-road. We recommend neither for the 2007 model year, since they have more mechanical problems and complaints than other years.
The Ford Expedition is another rival, which costs around $4,000 less. Passenger room is a bit better in the Expedition with a larger third row, but technology is more up-to-date in the Tahoe. We recommend the Expedition for the 2007 model year since there are fewer complaints.
Do Owners Recommend the Chevy Tahoe?
Yes. Reliable and supports our lifestyle. Great for long distances with two people and three dogs. Great for highway and interstate travels.
Yes. It is very dependable. And with a large family it is the perfect truck. And when I want to go out for a night on the town; my Tahoe still holds its own...
Yes! I love it. Drives and rides very comfortably. Nice features. Very nice vehicle. Love the captain seats in the middle seats, nice people have their own space. Wish there were better cup holders for the middle seats tho. They fold down from under the radio/heat controls. The drinks constantly tip over and are basically worthless. The cup holders in the front and the back seats are great!! Just need improved ones for the middle seats!
Yes very good car my family fits it's great on gas it's fun to drive very strong motor for any off road needs can take you anywhere and anyone.
Yes it is. It is very reliable and I like the features it includes. Especially the one where if it is really cold outside you could turn on your car from inside your home and go into a warm truck.
It is a good vehicle. They have plenty room for passengers as well as other items, such as luggage. Fuel mileage is acceptable for a vehicle of it is size and has a powerful engine.
I personally feel my yahoo is a great vehicle. I find it to be a great daily driver as well as a great travel vehicle. Has a great amount of seating for the whole family or loads of cargo room. Dose great pulling a camper or trailer with ease. I find there are many great luxury and benefits of being a yahoo owner.
I believe it is a great vehicle that has served our family well. The space provided was a key factor.
