The power steering failure caused great risk of crash due to complete loss of electric power steering while driving the vehicle causing warning lights to go odd. The cause was an electrical connection in the steering gear which needed to be replaced or updated.

We just had this happen yesterday no steering power steer fluid all over the place. Just bought this car a few years back. Local Ford said O RECALL on this problem. Will call Ford today. Could of been killed!!!!
You need to fill a complaint at NHTSA to start an investigation on the 2014 steering mechanisms. Ford needs to know that the 2014 is just as bad as the 2011 thru 2013 and they are recalling the 2015 and 2016 so why not the 2014.

James B. The Explorer has electrically assisted power steering. There is no hydraulic pump and no fluid.

Is this a recall? Ford took $1400 from me to order the part, it's been 6 months. The vehicle has been parked, had to buy a new car.

I was driving down the road when this happened to myself and child., The light came on that states steering loss stop safety. How could you stop safety coming down a major highway when you steering locks and lights come on? They say electric steering failure,what do you have to do for this matter to be fixed?
