The purpose of the TPMS on Your 2009 Kia Rio is to warn You that one or more tires is under-inflated which could produce premature tire wear, tire failure, and unsafe driving conditions. To perform a reset of the TPMS only takes a few moments. First, turn the ignition to the "ON" position without starting the vehicle. Now, press the "TPMS Reset" button (which is found beneath the lower left part of the dashboard) until You see the tire pressure light blink three times and then release the button. Start the vehicle and wait for at least 20 minutes for the sensors to refresh. You have completed the procedure and the TPMS has successfully been reset.
