The 2016 Honda Civic seems to receive complaints about steering issues at a higher rate than many other vehicles; namely, the electric power steering in the vehicle seems to give drivers plenty of issues, often at low mileage. If You see Your EPS (electric power steering) light illuminate, You'll want to get it checked out as soon as possible; total failure of the system may happen, which can lead to catastrophic failure at speeds resulting in injury or even death. If You're in motion while the power steering fails, come to a stop as soon as safely possible. Don't try to force the wheel into harsh turns -- doing so can lead to overcorrection, which can be quite dangerous. See if You can identify a diagnostic fault code (DTC) that pinpoints Your issue once safely home.

We bought a new 2016 Civic turbo coupe ..... Sticky steering is certainly noticeable and aggravating .... Presently (July 2023) this vehicle only has 29000Kms ..... Problem was reported before 20K kms without resolution.

Owners of the 2016 honda civic have complained of experiencing stiff and clunky steering while operating the vehicle. If this happens while you are driving get the car's power steering pump checked out.

The steering has about an inch of play and is jerky. Honda Technician claims it is the electric power steering. No fix, just live with it. New unit is expensive. Car has a total mileage of 13,000, purchased new from same dealer who's mechanic checked it out and test drove. To me it drifts and when brought back it then drifts in that direction.
