EacH2016 Honda Fit, regardless of which of the five different trim levels its equipped with, uses a 1.5L 4Cylinder engine under the hood. This means that regardless of Your options, You'll always use the same amount and type of oil -- that's reassuring! Specifically, You'll use 3.3 quarts without an oil filter, and 3.5 quarts with one. The recommended oil type is SAE 0W-20 full synthetic, but in its absence, it's possible to use SAE 5W-20. This, however, is not recommended over the long term. Simply put, using oil with a higher viscosity spells bad news for Your engine, as it introduces friction that can prematurely wear and tear Your equipment. If You want Your Fit to run for years to come, spend the few extra dollars on the SAE 0W-20; You'll thank Yourself down the line.

Joe P. This is not correct. The manual recommends conventional oil and specifically mentions that syntheticCAN be used, not HAS to be used.

Not correct. It recommends conventional oil and specifically mentions that synthetic oil can be used.
Due to the Direct injection issues with this 1.5L motor (Carbon Buildup) It is now recommended that only full sythentic oil be used as well as tier gas.
