The owners manual for the 2012 Ford Escape says to use A50/50 engine coolant and water concentration and You should always try to keep it at the FULL COLD level or at least within the COLD FILL RANGE. There are plenty of coolants out there that match these requirements so You can pretty much take Your pick and You're unlikely to have any issues. The balanced mix of the two is very important though because of the benefits of protection from boiling and freezing temperatures as well as the protection it will give You from corrosion and rusting issues down the line. You can typically find a one gallon container in the $15 to $20 range. -
