As the driver of a 2016 Honda Civic, You may find that a variety of lights occasionally illuminate Your dashboard. While these lights are usually alerts to let You know about upcoming routine maintenance, such as fluid and filter changes. Other times, it can be a warning that something is wrong. Thankfully, code a17 is just a maintenance alert. It is telling You that You have reached either 10,000 miles, or 12 months without an oil and filter change, brake fluid check, and tire rotation. Once You have taken Your vehicle in for the service, You can reset the light.

A17 code on a 2016 honda civic means to replace the engine oil, rotate the tires and replace the brake fluid.

You have to reset reminders as the service is done or else like in my case, you get the alert even though the service has been performed. A dealer will reset the reminder but a quickie oil change place may not.
