When the backup camera is not working in Your 2017 Honda Ridgeline the first thing that You will want to do is check the head unit. If this is frozen then it may not activate the camera properly when You put the vehicle into reverse. Often restarting the screen can fix many problems. If that does not solve the issue then the next thing to check is the camera and the wiring at it. If the camera is damaged or the wiring is loose then that may prevent it from turning on. If the camera is okay the next thing to check are the reverse lights. If these do not turn on then that could be a sign of a problem with the reverse switch that also controls the camera.

My 2017 Ridgeline back up camera is not working. The screen is black with just an outline image only. I'm trying to get an appointment with Honda, but have not heard back...any suggestions? Also, I have a New Five Star Warranty that lasts up to 100,000 miles, if that matters. Any help would be appreciated.

My 2018, also stopped working, and found 3 wires are broken in the wiring cable. Is it worth fixing it? Dealer wants $400. Out of warranty of course now. :(
