Your 2016 Hyundai Tucson's windows protect You from the elements, and they protect the interior from damage. If Your window won't go up, there are a few common issues that can cause this problem. These include a blown fuse, bad window motor, wiring issues, and the switch. First check for a blown fuse. The fuse box is located under the passenger side of the dash. Remove the fuse from its holder. In some cases, You may need a small screwdriver to unscrew the fuse holder cap. Look at the fuse wire. If there is a visible gap in the wire or a dark or metallic smear inside the glass then the fuse is blown and needs to be replaced. Many local parts stores such as Advance Auto Parts and Auto Zone carry a wide variety of fuses.

I had to replace the drivers side front window regulator in my 2016 Hyundai Tucson Limited in June 2021. In August 2021 my front passenger side window stopped working. I left it in the closed position and am not repairing it at this time. I'm still paying off the $518.00 from the window repair in June 2021! Now a third window the rear passenger side is stuck in the down position as of today 11/7/2021! This is ridiculous and I have to repair this window because it's in the down position. All in all that would amount to $1500.00 in electric window repairs for a 5 year old vehicle! I have never had this issue with any other car I've owned. After reading this site and 2 other websites this is definitely a manufacturing issue with 2016 Hyundai's! I am going to write or email Tucson headquarters after reading about this same issue with many other Tucson's. Consumers should be reimbursed and there needs to be a recall!

My 2016 Tucson currently only has one functional window. I'm afraid to even touch the switch because I'm sure it will go out as well. One by one they are all quitting on me. So very sad. I really love my car but at $500/window to replace not sure if I wan to fork out $2000 to fix all 4!! I'm hoping Hyundai updates their recall and includes this issue...

If this anything like my Tucson, both my front windows stopped working. I had put then down after leaving the gym, and when I got home, they wouldn't roll up. Come to find out, a piece in the Window regulator panel was stripped, and had to replace the whole thing last summer. I was able to find the parts on ebay, and replace both window panels myself, with some help with a couple people I knew that knew more about cars and were able to walk me through the process. This was last summer (summer 2020), and now this summer my back windows are doing the same thing and now have to replace them. Smh.

I have the same problem with my Tucson windows. Two have stopped working within 10 days. If you have or have had this issue you need to call Hyundai Consumer Affairs at 800-633-5151. Unless you call they have no idea how big an issue this is. If they get a lot of calls they can issue a recall and you can get reimbursed for your expenses.

If the power windows on the hyundai tucson 2016 are not working then you need to check the motor and the wires powering it for damage.

My 2016 Tucson now has 3 windows in need of repair.. 1st window driver side went out 1.5 year ago, 2nd window front passenger went out almost a year ago and left rear went out today. Each repair is very expensive and I’m now seeing I’m not the only one with this issue. What do we need to do to push for a recall? . . . A recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle, equipment, car seat, or tire creates an unreasonable safety risk or fails to meet minimum safety standards. . . . Not having working windows are extremely dangerous especially driver side. If the locks decide to malfunction your only alternate option is not even an option. Also is I decide to replace these regulators will I have to go through this again after another 60,000 miles. It’s a problem they need to admit and fix. We have a 2000 Lexus, 06 Ford, 17 yr old Infinity, 10 yr old Nissan and we never had a window go out on any one of them.

I’m having the same problem as others on this thread. Windows on my 2016 Hyundai Tucson stopped working at around 25,000 miles. Now, all 4 switches are bad. The dealership claimed to have never heard of this problem. I called the Hyundai consumer line at 800-633-5151 and they said there is no recall for this and warranty won’t cover it. Getting my windows fixed would be an out of pocket expense for me. Very frustrating seeing so many others are having the same problem.

My 2016 Hyundai Tucson had 48,000 miles, was only 4 yrs old and in 2020 driver window was inoperable-had to purchase regulator and motor that my husband repaired (couldn't afford the$2,000 at dealership!) In 2021 Driver left rear AND Passenger right front windows inoperable-Again, ACE mechanic husband repaired and contacted Hyundai corporation https://owners.hyundaiusa.com/content/myhyundai/us/en/contact-us/update-existing-case.html to create a case. Aug 2022 AGAIN Driver left and Now Passenger rear right windows inoperable!! YES HYUNDAI NEEDS A RECALL ON THIS-My dealership said there is no recall....it's because 10% of complaints will warrant a recall-PLEASE CONTACT AND COMPLAIN TO HYUNDAI! I Love my car, but am afraid to use the windows and pay thousands of dollars each year! NEVER have I ever had a problem with windows on a vehicle this new!

Same issues as everyone else is having with 2016 tuscon windows. Hyundai refuses to accept responsibility and now two months after having to fix all window regulators the motor in passenger front windows needs replaced. Getting second opinion.Have had more issues with the tuscon than ever with ford. Going back to a ford. Thank Hyundai……will definitely never recommend Hyundai

Same issue on my 2015 Tuscon. Drivers side window failed first at 61K miles. This was a stripped gear in in the regulator that that power window motor engages to role the window up and down. Had to replace the whole regulator because the gear is not available. At 62K miles complete catastrophic engine failure (Hyundai covered the complete repair). 64K miles front passenger window not working. 65K miles both rear windows have stopped working. Obviously there is a serious issue with the gear in the regular not being the correct material or design causing premature failure. I agree Consumers should be reimbursed and there needs to be a recall

I had to replace the entire driver's side front window mechanism in late 2022. That cost was $700+. Now the other three windows are not working. I don't have $2,100 to spend on windows. I have a 2016 Hyundai Tucson Sport and the mileage is only 31,000. I have submitted a claim. One of the windows is being help up with packing tape on the inside and outside. Reading these experiences, mine is identical to a T.... I have fixed my front two and I have yet to address my rear two. After calling for months, going to the dealership, filing complaints... Nothing has worked. Has anyone been able to make progress with contacting the customer service. They said the issue could not be escalated since I did not repair them directly with the dealership.. But a $250 diagnostic fee per window was not enough to justify me not going directly there. I just cannot quite understand if nearly every 2016-2020 Hyundai Tucson owner is experiencing this issue, why it has yet to be addressed.

2016 Tuscon that is driven 6-7 months a year and always in a garage. First the drivers window went and it was the entire mechanism (probably the stripped gear I am seeing here). Then one month later it was the passanger window. Each time I spend $1000 to fix and replace the guts. Next both back windows which I am refusing to fix. This should be a recall but if there arent enough of us to create a recall the dealership should at least cover the repair. I could see if it was a simple $50 switch or something but this is $1000 a window on a 20016 car. I have never had a window issue like this with a window and this is clearly not a one off window. ALL 4 WINDOWS on a car with less than 65K miles on it. COME ON HYUNDAI HELP US

On 10-26-23 again driver side window not working not even 2 weeks from last problem. Now Weisner Hyundai said “window regulator gear came apart. “ $543.73 charge - very angry - Now 12-5-23 passenger side window not working- checked website and realized Hyundai has a big problem after seeing hundreds of complaints about the electric windows. Contacted customer care and was given a contact person who came back and said nothing can be done -new charge for passenger window $556.65 diagnosed as window regulator - needless to say a recall is in Order - my granddaughter also has a Tucson 2016 and 3 out of 4 windows have had problems. We are at our wits end. Any suggestions ? Was going to write Corporate. Any help appreciated

Update: I watched a YouTube video on fixing the window switches with WD40 and it worked! I fixed all 4 of my windows switches with just the cost of a can of WD40 instead of spending thousands of dollars getting them replaced. It was a little tedious getting the door panels off and then getting the switch mechanism out but the job was completed in just about 2 hours for all 4 doors.
