It is expensive to maintain, highly recommend you take the extended warranty
The vehicle is comfortable, stylish and sporty combined. Engineered with high performance options and make you feel spoiled

Love my BMW 535i. Will drive it forever!
Great leather seats. Drives so smoothly. Cruise control option. Love the rear view camera. Plenty of space in the back seat. Black floor mats that do not show stains. The car gets great gas mileage. I love everything about this car. Key fob entry, remembers my seat setting. Can easily open the trunk.
accountCircle Tara S
It is a mid luxury sedan that is just enough to make me feel good in the car.
Reliable, very comfortable, and made for luxury! I love the speakers in this car, the sound quality is crisp, and the base is nice. Driving wise, it is smooth on turns, and accelerates with little sound and difficulty. I like the riding feeling, very little bumpiness when on the highways with potholes and construction.

Love it. Would purchase again if it weren't so expensive.
Purchased use. Off a three year lease. Had no issues until 80,000 miles when it needed a replacement flex disc also known as a guibo which is due to a product defect that isn't covered under warranty or recall. Otherwise no issues and the car drives great.

Its fast, very comfortable to drive , can be use as a family car.
I Love everything about my model. It's a 550I M SPORT package twin turbo Only problem i have with it is there's common parts that can go out easily. They say it's because 550i isn't meant to be twin turbo.
accountCircle Diana S
Great vehicle, suitable for family.
My car is 2013 model. The only problem I had so far is the worn out fuel pipe. The rest is perfect, it drives great, awesome performance, smooth and fast. Very big car, suitable for my big family, has a huge trunk. Love the way it looks, luxurious. Beautiful vehicle!

The ultimate driving machine
The best car and make on the road. Performance is awesome. 5 series are the best and most reliable. Fast and safe as well. I would buy many more. Safe and reliable. I would recommend this make and model to friends and family. It is a pleasure to drive

How BMW is the best car you can ever own.
My car is very reliable. Since I live in a state where winter is crazy, the car come fully equipped with features that gets me through the tough weather. I would suggest anyone who is in search for a car to invest in a BMW. You will not be disappointed once you get one.

Timing chain should be a recall
Only had my 5 series less than 2 years. Purchased extended warranty from Carmax. 600 miles after warranty expires the timing chain and several components related failed.$5950 out of pocket! Prior to that the driver headlight needed to be replaced at $2500. I love BMW but this is unacceptable. Dealership stated they have replaced timing chains in numerous cars, same year, exact repairs. BMW should do a recall. I’m sure they could care less but what about all the advertisements on customer satisfaction? Why wouldn’t you want to take care of loyal BMW drivers. This is disappointing

I Purchased this car certified pre-owned with 32k. Drove it to 120k. After that it fell apart and cost$8,000 to repair and I still have 2 years left to pay.
The drivetrain has a rubber piece that hold it in place driving randomly one night it just popped and the oil pan burst, it also affected the engine cost $8,000 to repair and it happen after the warranty was up

BMW, reliable, but expensive to maintain.
Reliable but expensive to fix. Drives very smooth. The seats do not hold up well, especially the rear seats. Holds resale value well, but still cannot sell it for what I owe on it. I would consider buying another BMW, but only if I could purchase it outright and not have to finance it.

It's nice and it rides very smooth.
I like the overall ride of the car. I like the design of the car. I do not like the fact it does not have a bu camera.
accountCircle Mark C
It is amazing and comfortable.
The car is smooth in driving and has a good power steering facility. The seats are comfortable and it is really smooth in driving. It is automatic and can speed up to 180 miles an hour. The backseat is comfy and is spacious. Also there is a nice finish on the exterior side.

BMW 535i sedan - the good and the not so good.
Is a sleek looking car, gets very good gas mileage for its size. The interior could use improvements, the door handles are sticky, they have melted from heat, there is minimal storage space in the glove box. The sunroof drains get clogged and the water backs into the interior driver seat and back seat, have had the drains unclogged many times, recurring problem.
accountCircle Tiffany B
Smooth ride BMW 5 series with leather interior.
It has most of the features I want except for review camera, heated seats, push button keyless entry. I have navigation system, leather seats, sunroof, etc. The car runs smooth and is high tech for the most part. It will alert when I need a oil change or if my tires are low and which tire that is specifically low.

Go with the BMW 5 series!
I haven't had any major problems with vehicle, regular maintenance and oil changes. Living in Florida we just started having a slight issue with the interior becoming sticky and somewhat melting on the inside handles, and a couple little problems with the sunroof not opening, but nothing major!

Great vehicle, highly recommend.
It is very reliable and comfortable. The leather seats are awesome and really accentuate the buyer experience. I would highly recommend anyone looking for a car to buy this BMW. It was reasonably priced and the upkeep has not been as bad as I expected.

Pros from Owners

likeFilled Ida S.

Drives nicely, comfortable, updated but not too over the top features, is the perfect car when I need to take my mother in law somewhere who has a hard time getting in and out of vehicles. Maintenance so far has not been bad but in the future I do anticipate spending some money on it which would be a con.

likeFilled Frank G.

Great drive, excellent acceleration, attention to detail, good looking model. I bought this car used 4 years ago and have had no mechanical problem other than the battery dying. The dealership gave me three year warranty and the service was excellent.

Cons from Owners

dislikeFilled Ida S.

So far I have not had to replace any parts on this vehicle but I have had this model car before and I anticipate spending money when the time comes. There are not many cons so far to this used car that I bought, I have very happy with it and the maker.

dislikeFilled Frank G.

Obviously, if something breaks and your warranty has expired, the repair is going to be very costly. Even replacing the tires with the recommended brand it is going to cost you at least $ 250 each. Also, since it has a high performance engine, it requires premium gasoline.
