Perfect first car for a teen.
Sunroof gets stuck sometimes, but reliability is 100%. Comfortable. Saves a lot of gas and would be a great beginner car. Has push to start, heated seats, rear view camera. Even judges your braking pattern. Everytime you brake, it gives you a percentage out of 100 of how good of a stop it was. At the end, you’ll get a final score. Almost like a game.

Great gas mileage and comfort also.
My car is a hybrid it has regenerative charging. I can go as fast as 85 mph when on ev mode. It as navigation and several information screens you can modify for your needs. The cargo space is really good and the back seat fold forward and flat so you can really carry a lot.

2016 c-max a pleasure to own.
My 2016 ford c-max hybrid has been wonderful. Reliably gets 40+ mpg in combined city/highway driving. Best reading I have had was nearly 45 mpg. Spacious, practical, and comfortable. Ride is quite nice, relatively quiet. Plenty of power is available if needed to zip onto the freeway or pass somebody. I really like the braking as well, stops with confidence and stability. I bought mine virtually new (less than 10,000 miles) and have put approximately 25,000 miles on it. Planning on driving it until it croaks!

Love everything about my c-max energi.
This car has been really great since I bought it six months ago. I have not had any issues at all. The car has some really awesome features such as heated seats, color changing interior lights, and came with a portable charger that can be plugged into any outdoor outlet.

Great hybrid car to drive and save money and good for environment.
I love my ford c max. It is hybrid so the gas mileage is awesome. I get about 400 miles with a tank of gas. I like it that it is higher up from the ground and it is easier for me to get in and out of the vehicle. It drives smooth and has had so mechanical issues since I bought it over a year ago. It is compact but good leg room for front and back. It is a hatchback style and the trunk space is a bit small however you can fold down the back seat to make more room is you need to load more or larger items. The only thing I do not like about this car is the turning radius. Otherwise, I love it and it is too bad ford discontinued it.

My vehicle is a tan colored car and it is the best.
My vehicle is great. It is a gas saver and so it only takes about $25 to fill up the whole thing! Its performance is great and so far had my vehicle for about 1/2 a year and it has no problems. If you want a car that is reliable, a gas saver, can get you to far distances, this is your car. Disclaimer is that this is a small car and so the backspace for groceries or big objects is limited.

The great gas mileage, never had a car go so far on a tank of fuel!
It's a hybrid gas/electric that gets great gas mileage. Being disabled it's easy for me to get in and out of. I wish the dual climate control worked better though!

It gets fantastic gas mileage!
I like the size and height, as well as the gas mileage I get. I wish the bottom of the car was a bit taller for getting through snow, and I am not a huge fan of the touchscreen - I feel they promote distracted driving.

Beware the failing battery
Buyer beware: The Ford HV battery warranty is a fraud. Ford will not replace the HV battery unless it totally dies. So you can kiss the 20 miles per charge good by after 30,000 mi. The warranty's" fine print says the "battery may degrade" - which translates to "we won't replace it as long as your car runs"! This warranty is a FRAUD. No need to pay for a plug-in hybrid, it won't be long before you are driving a straight hybrid. Ford want $13K to replace the faulty battery - more than the car is worth! Lots of luck. A nice car devalued by a manufacturer who cares not about its customers!

A typical hybrid with good mpg.
I personally prefer a truck or a car with more power to it. Now given that the c-max is a hybrid it is not going to shine in that field. So my biggest ‘complaint’ with the car is that is that it lacks in hp. The very real problem, however, is the trunk space. I really does not have a lot of storage room and you'd likely only be able to fit one sizable suitcase for example and that could be a problem for people who travel a lot. Other than that, the car has great mpg, leg room, head space etc.

It's a hybrid and I rarely have to get gas, and it's a cute hatchback.
I like that it's a hybrid and gets really good mileage. I don't like that the doors are so low that it's impossible to park next to a curb without scraping the door when you open it. It has poor pick up. I like the navigation interface.

The sel highly competitive with newer cars. This is a great car overall.
I love everything about this car. Test drive a lot of cars before buying this one. When you hit the gas it moves no hesitation. Getting on the freeway is a breeze. Never had any mechanical problems. I am the original owner of this car and have driven it cross country, over the mountains many times. Still looks like new. The sel has all things that still make it competitive with newer cars.

All about the cmax and it is drive.
I love my car it is small and compact. I do not like the fact that I get less out of the hybrid portion when going to and from work I use just as much gas as before. I wish it had remote start. It drives very smoothly. It is very comfortable to drive but very sensitive brakes.

Pros from Owners

likeFilled Laurel F.

That I can charge it on our community electric charger and for the most part use it electric only when I run errands. Also, it is good that if I decide to take a longer road trip it seamlessly switches over to the gasoline engine.

likeFilled Don B.

Good on gas. The gas gauge display has numerous information sensors. Voice command for calling and radio control. Small easy to maneuver. It also lets you know when you are running on electric or gas. Rear view camera makes it very easy for parking and keeping you out of trouble. Easy to read display alert. Rear wiper blade is a great feature. Hard to see over rear seat headrest. Headlights are always on. The car sits low and bottoms out. The spare tire kit is a bit of a hassle and only allows a fifty mile road wear.

Cons from Owners

dislikeFilled Laurel F.

I would like it if I could charge it to go more than 18 miles. The mileage when you run the gas engine is not that great. I cannot think of any other issues with my vehicle. For the most part I love my car.

dislikeFilled Don B.

Rear seat headrests are to high making it difficult to see in rear, and the car has a lot of blind spots. The headlights are always on, even when you are just parked. The car has a low clearance level, it is very easy to bottom out, or hit the front under cover guard on parking curb, ripped mine off on one occasion. Though it has a lot of electronic readouts, it is very cumbersome to get to the different readout displays. Though it runs apps, there are very few that are downloadable, and setting up, or downloading your phone contacts was difficult. The spare kit device is difficult to use and find, and recommends not driving over fifty miles.
