I love my jeep, but I want to upgrade.
It is a gas guzzler - I have to fill the tank pretty often. And I have had to replace my brakes 3+ in the last two years. The vehicle overheats often so I have to pull over and let the engine cool down. Other than that, the car is comfortable to drive for long distances and the cruise control has never failed me.

It was somewhat of an early car to have Bluetooth cell phone technology.
The 2011 jeep patriot is truly such an amazing car. It is an exceptional choice for parents who are eyeing what to get their new teen driver for their first car because not only is it fun to drive, but it comes equipped with a sturdy power steering system that proves reliable on most roads.
accountCircle Jennifer K
I like that it does not use too much gas, but has 4 wheel drive. I also like that it is an SUV but is not too big.
It has not given me too many problems as I have kept up with regular maintenance. It has been a reliable car.
accountCircle Robin L
Seats passengers comfortably and good on gas.
Nice size vehicle, comes with radio/DVD/aux. Just don't care for the transmission on vehicles, run hit easy in summer. Sporty jeep, seats 5 people comfortably and has lots of storage in trunk are for grocery and other cargo. Very good on gas mileage when taking trips.
accountCircle Mossy D
It is a comfortable. Classy yet casual car.
I love the space, I love the truck size, I love the size, & I really like it is whole interior design I really do not have any complaints. This car has never broke down on me and I absolutely love it.
accountCircle L P
I love my Jeep because its reliable.
I love my Jeep because its comfortably fit 5 passengers. It is very good on gas. Drive very smooth as long as you change oil and doing tune up. Break very nicely. The only problem is after 5 year the speakers start to not sound clear. The head light starts to burn at all time.
accountCircle Jacob H
Affordable, yet very comfy and ideal for families.
It is quite reliable and is rather nice considering the age of it (2011). For people who are looking to buy a used car, this would be most ideal. It is rather comfy to sit in as well, which is always a plus! For my family it is good for road trips / going out for casual drives (and we used this car day to day).

I love the mileage it gets. 28 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the interstate.
Amazing car. Seats recline all the way back in a laying down position. Great mileage. Extremely comfortable. Can switch from Automatic to Manual transmission. Car runs beautifully. Will definitely have to maintain upkeep as it is a slightly older car.

My jeep patriot has been experiencing some mechanical issues.
It has had a long standing issue that 3 different mechanics were unable to fix. Something with the engine where it will stall out when starting the car, and at times on the road. Other than that, it's not a bad car. It has roll down windows and manual locks.
accountCircle Heather B
Everyone should know about the blind spots its dangerous.
The Jeep is not made very well, parts seem cheap. There is not a lot of room in the backseat. There are blind spots. It makes it really hard to change lanes.
accountCircle Kellt C
If you are buying an SUV for family purposes, this is not the vehicle.
I feel like it is very cheaply made car. It does not have as much space as I hoped for when I bought an SUV. I have had to put a lot of money into fixing the vehicle in the few years I have had it.

Mechanical defects & haunted car
2011 jeep patriot @ 47k miles, unlocks itself , turns on ALL lights, stałls In traffic, shifted to 3rd then 4th gear, makes loud noise, at traffic lights car has Low speedUpon moving again , already fixed a brake switch

That it is completely unsafe for family use. Get any different vehicle
It's a piece of c**p. Over 10 recalls. The steering column shakes. Not worth the money

Jeep patriot, and all other jeeps are overpriced for no reason.
Tons of blind spots, multiple recalls on airbags, not enough trunk space, not enough space in general, having to take it in to get fixed more than usual, very boxy, past electrical problems and have had issues with the heat and air conditioning, does not feel safe.
accountCircle Cassie D
Comfortable, but not dependable.
My jeep is very comfortable and it has made it many miles for me, but it is a piece of junk in my opinion. It sometimes lags upon takeoff, it makes loud noise when air is turned on. The key and the switch it goes in can fall out in your lap while driving down the road. The jeep tries to die while driving everything will flash on and off while power is dying and restoring super fast. The airbag on steering wheel bounces all by itself and notifies you on dashboard that airbag may deploy.

Jeep Patriot, CVT engine review
I like the roominess inside and having a larger vehicle for my family. The engine is CVT and that's a setback for me personally. It takes A LOT of work to go uphill or just even to get up to a decent speed. Other than that, I enjoy my jeep and would own another one.

I love my car, I have abused it but I get more scared every time I drive.
It does not accelerate. It has a very hard time on going up hills. It is very comfortable and is very spacious. Brand new this car would be very reliable but once it is mileages get high it gets less and less reliable. I personally had a problem with the sensors that made it not accelerate at all and the traction light would go on. I had to pull off on the side of the road and restart my car. I did change the sensor and it works very fine now.

Jeep patriot was on the lower end of cost however it has ran like a top.
Absolutely love my patriot - it has been a very solid and good running. The performance has been by far the best in a vehicle that I have ever owned. Always reliable, interior well made. Very roomy and comfortable any seat. Will stay in the jeep family when buying again.

Pros from Owners

Rides well, low maintenance, and good price. The car is reliable and always gets me where I need to be. I have had minimal issues in the past 10 Years of owning this car. The trunk is a great size for storage.

likeFilled Carmilla G.

Very reliable vehicle. Has definitely stood the test of time. 122,800. Miles and still going strong. I have taken several long cross country trips and the vehicle has performed well. There is also plenty of cargo space.

likeFilled Mark P.

The pros are it has 4 wheel drive, gets great gas mileage, is a smooth ride and it looks great. Since I have had my jeep patriot, I have not had any serious problems with it. The interior of the car is nice and the trunk is spacious.

Cons from Owners

dislikeFilled Lauren J.

No updated interface to use within the car. The radio is old and I am unable to use any kind of GPS service. The tires lose air quickly and the headlights burn out really fast. The car has lasted a very long time. However.

dislikeFilled Carmilla G.

Has a bad blind spot. You have to be very careful when changing lanes so as not to hit anyone. Since it is a 4 cylinder engine it takes a few seconds to come up to speed but then it really moves! I recommend this jeep highly.

dislikeFilled Mark P.

One of the biggest cons of the jeep patriot, for me at least, is that it does not have heated seats. I live in a cold weather city and I would really like to have heated seats. Another con is there is no computer screen with GPS built in. I would also like if it were Bluetooth capable.

How Reliable Is The 2011 Jeep Patriot?

I have had to replace the spark plugs once. The spark plugs are only made to last 30,000 miles. Other than this, it has been very reliable.

Is The 2011 Jeep Patriot A Good Value?

I purchased mine used for around $6000. To me it was a good value for a mid price range SUV. It also provided four wheel drive.
Chris S.
New about $17,000+, this one used is probably about $6,000 now. The value is good if everything is working and in good shape.
Bethany M.
I think I paid total about 22,000 and I think it was a good value. The jeep still runs well and it is almost ten years old.
