2008 Mitsubishi lancer is a stylish and affordable everyday vehicle.
I bought this car lightly used and I have had no big problems. The largest issues I have had were a simple replacement part that I could replace myself. Decent performance and fairly comfortable. It has been running really well for now over 100,000 miles. I seriously have no complaints about the vehicle.

Great vehicle but not very spacious in the back seat.
I love my vehicle, I have had it brand new off the lot. We've been together for 11 years and I haven't had any major issues with it. The only thing that bothers me is the only key hole is on the driver side, none on the passenger side or the trunk.

Great car for new drivers.
I am in love with my car. It is a perfect car for a young driver. It does not have a plug in for an AUX cord, but FM transmitters work fine. The comfort is absolutely amazing and the interior of the car looks like it is from 2015 or even 2016. There have been a few problems after having it on the road for 10 years and over 100, 000 miles, but it has been fairly easy to fix.

Great car for the price. A car that will last a long time.
I love my car, it performs well under every condition, even ice and snow for the most part which is very surprising because it is only front wheel drive, but front wheel drive cars are better on ice and snow than front wheel drive cars which is probably why is it so good on said condition but sometimes I feel as if is better than it relatively should be. The interior is great and is super easy to clean which is great, and the front bucket seats are awesome, the 7.3 inch screen infotainment system with navigation is great, except it does not have Bluetooth connectivity for music or an aux input so that is annoying if you like to listen to your own music but do not want to buy CDs.

Mitsubishi lancer. Great car and still running.
My car is up to 170, 000 and runs great. There have not been any major issues during the life of my car. I put all the miles on it except 7. The car does tend to be. Loud for back seat passengers. It is a front wheel drive so tires should be rotated regularly.

Sporty 4 doors looks nice good mpg low price tag.
I enjoy my 08 lancer GTs it is a little sporty but still practical for a small family I have 3 kids they are in car seats except my oldest it will fit 3 but they have to be small it is nice in simple ways it has some get up and go but if you drive like a normal person it also has a really good mpg I like the carbon fiber accents and the curves and folds of the car makes it really nice for a good price tag.

It is a very dependable car.
None so far. It drives well and is dependable. I would recommend this car to anyone. Perfect for long drives and short commutes.

The car does is that the volume needs to be turned up to 20 to hear anything.
The car has completely broken down two times. Once, I was driving on a highway and the car overheated and just slowed down to a stop. It was extremely dangerous but at least there was a shoulder to pull over to. The second time I was a mile from home and made a turn and the car literally came off of it is frame. We had it fixed both times but how reliable could the car possibly be if it has broken 2 times?

Basically, the car if well taken care of should be no problems at all, .
As far as I am concerned, since I have taken care of my car for so long I really have not experienced unfortunate issues, transmissions usually work fine. The only problem with this car is that insurance is quite expensive. For this car is best to check with your insurance agent. The lack of power with this car is probably high, but if you are looking for a car that can just move you around this would be a good car.

Car is still very dependable with 120000 miles
Very Dependable. Very Cheap on gas. Still in good shape. I love it.
accountCircle Susan B
It runs smoothly, the sound system works great.
I do not have any issues, it works great. The sound system is great, runs beautifully. It has a 6 disc CD player.

My car is fun and sporty on the outside but under the hood it is a mini van.
The exterior of the car is scratch and sun damaged. The rims are matte black and the windows have been tinted. The engine does not perform or sound correct. My brake light is out. The interior is a mess but the seats are comfortable. The car has a subsystem. Also has a spoiler.

Great sound system great features on stereo being touchscreen.
Good on gas.great sound system. Little to low ..I hate when it rains easily go sideways with water.

I love the fact that I do not have to take my key out to unlock and open my door.
I love this car, I bought it used and it has really withstood a lot. I travel a lot and it is been many miles with me. The only complaint I have is that the backseat should have more space for traveling and such. As long as you get tune-ups, oil changes, etc you are car will last!

The transmission sucks and requires a lot of money to maintain.
I like the comfort of the seats and the space given that it is a small vehicle. I miss the better features of newer vehicles like the radio and usb / Bluetooth. I hate the transmission issues and wish the gas mileage was a little better.

It drives very smoothly, rarely have problems with it.
The car is loud, which makes it sound very fast. One of the problems I've had with the car is in the winter, when it is cold it has a harder time starting. The second problem is when I drove to Oklahoma for a trip and the tire gauge was acting wonky. It went off but when I checked the tires they had enough air and nothing was wrong with them.

Why I love my 5 speed 2008 lancer!
5: speed, very good get up and go. Has a sunroof. I love it. It's my speed demon. I just recently had my ac go out. I believe it's the compressor or condenser but it's the first issue I've had out of it and I e had it 2 yrs and 8 months. I truly love this car and the gts model is so much faster I had a quicker response, great turning radius, turns really tight.

Pros from Owners

likeFilled Heather S.

My lancer is great on gas and I have very few problems with it. I have made several long trips with no problems. It drives smooth and runs great. I have had a problem with the engine light coming on and I don't know what the problem is. I have also had problems with the security aspects of the car.

likeFilled Michelle G.

It has full potential for high speed, and the brakes give me confidence. It is very smooth on the steering wheel, and in general you do not listen to any kind of sound, it is wonderful for soft driving.

Cons from Owners

dislikeFilled Heather S.

Not big enough. Not enough room in the trunk. I wish it came with a better radio and speakers. The radio volume is not loud enough. I wish there was more leg room in the backseat. The way the engine us set up makes it difficult to work on. I have not been able to get the Bluetooth or phone connected for hands free phone access..

dislikeFilled Michelle G.

Unfortunately, only the base engine can be paired with a manual transmission. Although the CVT transmission saves fuel, it has a tendency to respond slowly. Blind spot detection is not offered. It lacks high-tech for safety aid.
