Silver 2000 Dodge Viper GTS From Front-Driver Side

Have you had your eye on a 2000 Dodge Viper GTS but want to learn more about it? Then you’ve come to the right place. We are going to give you all the information you need to make an informed decision about this vehicle.

Why makes the 2000 Dodge Viper GTS trim so popular?

The GTS comes with an 8.4L V10 engine that puts out an incredible 645 hp and 600 lb-ft. This allows it to reach a top speed of 199-mph and 0-60 in just 3.4 seconds.

A True Sports Car Inside and Out

If you’re looking for a true sports car and not some wannabe, the Viper is it. It rides, drives, and handles just like a real sports car. That means you’ll get more of a performance car rather than a comfort-mobile. But you don’t buy a Viper because you want comfort…right?

The Dodge Viper is loud, rough, and uncomfortable. But you will enjoy the sleek sporty look, the cockpit-like interior, and the smooth oval lines of the exterior just like an authentic sports car. You won’t be able to drive anywhere without turning heads and being the envy of everyone else on the road.

Do You Have the Need for Speed?

The Viper is truly amazing when it comes to speed. You will never find yourself in a bind or left behind on the line with this one. Never! This sports car provides you a nearly unbeatable 0-60 speed in less than 3.5 seconds.

It comes with a manual 6-speed transmission so you will love flying through the gears. And the 8.0L SMPI OHV aluminum V10 engine roars right along so you can hear and feel the unquestionable power and performance.

Not a Comfortable Ride but a True Sports Car Experience

You will love the cockpit with its high-back leather reclining bucket seats with lumbar support. Once in this car, you will feel tucked in tight to further enhance that sporty feel. However, taller people might find the driver’s area a bit too cramped to enjoy.

It does have adjustable pedals, so you will just have to test drive it to see if it fits you right. The leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel and leather-wrapped shifter knob are just a few more touches that add to the luxury part of this experience.

Mechanical and Performance Features

True to form, the Viper comes with 18-inch high-performance SBR BSW front and rear tires which are P275/35ZR18’s and P335/30ZR18’s respectively.

It also comes standard with a dual rear exhaust system, front and rear stabilizer bars, and front and rear coil springs with low-pressure shock absorbers that are gas-charged and adjustable. You will also appreciate the long-life maintenance-free battery, the 125-amp alternator, engine cooler, power rack and pinion steering, and power-assisted 4-wheel disc brakes.

The Viper’s Safety Features

This car comes standard with anti-lock brakes, stability control (which we mentioned above), and side door-mounted airbags. However, we do need to mention that the Viper doesn’t come with overhead airbags or any anti-whiplash features. This is probably because there is no room to put them.

But this car is equipped with child safety seat anchors — yes, it really is. Don’t laugh…we all know this isn’t the type of car most people would want to drive their kids around in. But who knows…maybe you do. If so, more power to you!

Final Thoughts About the 2000 Dodge Viper GTS

This luxury sports car is exceptional if you are looking for a performance vehicle. However, if you are looking for anything else, this car might disappoint. That’s because the Viper was not built to be comfortable.

You will have power, speed, performance, as well as the look and feel of a sports car. But what you get in performance, you will give up in comfort.

So, if comfort is what you’re looking for, then perhaps this car isn’t for you. But if you want speed, performance, handling, and an overall fun-to-drive luxury sports car, go for it!

What’s Next?

Are you ready to buy that 2000 Dodge Viper GTS you have been wanting?

Wait!

Make sure you check the Vehicle History first. Checking the history of any vehicle before you buy it could save you from buying a car that is loaded with problems rather than features.
