Red 2007 Dodge Charger R/T With White Background

You want a solid car that performs like a sports vehicle but is roomy enough and easy to drive for carpool days. Is it possible? The 2007 Dodge Charger R/T is one of those cars that can easily stand with the muscle cars but still get you back and forth to work.

What does the 2007 Dodge Charger R/T have to offer?

A luxury car without a doubt, the R/T came with a 5.7L V8 engine as the base. That provided 340 horsepower and 390 lb-ft. This vehicle also had some towing power at 2,000 pounds with a payload of 1270. As a four-door sedan, it was quite unassuming from the exterior.

Before you head off to buy a pre-owned Charger, there’s more to know about the R/T. From its sporty feel to its interior features, we’re going to break down what you can expect if you decide to buy this car. Don’t forget to check out the 2007 Dodge Charger R/T’s Vehicle History, too.

Just Look at it – The Dodge Charger R/T for 2007 Stands Out

Here’s a good video for those that love all the Charger R/T has to offer. This vehicle has clean body lines and a strong presence. In the video, the sublime coloring on this specific vehicle helps that stand out.

There’s no doubt this vehicle is one of the top-end models for this year. It’s a full-size sedan with a much roomier interior than what you may expect in a traditional muscle car. This vehicle offers several engine options (the 6.1-L Hemi offers that high performance drivers are looking for with 425 horsepower). That’s an optional upgraded engine for the 2007 model year.  That engine can hit 0 to 60 in about 5.5 seconds.

You would have been able to choose either a V6 or a V8, depending on your performance goals. The V8 brings with it a much sportier feel, but it is still an easy, smooth drive. They do well not just on the backroads, but are steady beasts on the freeway and won’t cause a backache on bumpy roads either.

Now, this 2007 Dodge Charger is all about that bold look, but it is heavy. It’s a full-size sedan stretching over 16 feet and weighing over 4000 pounds. The point? You’ll get that smooth ride, but it will cost you.

If you are commuting 40 miles one way to work each day, it’s going to run up the fuel costs for you. By EPA-estimates, that 6.1L engine gets 13 city and 18 highway, for a combined 15 miles per gallon in fuel efficiency. The 5.7L engine does a bit better at 18 combined miles per gallon.

This vehicle also offered rack and pinion steering, an optional engine block heater, and ABS.

The video here shares the Dodge Charger Daytona R/T. There was also the Police Package on this vehicle as well. The electronic stability system was standard on this model.

The car wasn’t given an overall safety rating but did meet the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s five-star performance across most specific areas. Also notable is that this vehicle has had five recalls over the years as of October of 2020.  The recalls included the powertrain, brakes, and airbags.

What Else is on Board?

The interior of the Dodge Charger R/T was slick and comfortable. It came with a standard tachometer with an optional trip counter (yes, it wasn’t standard). This vehicle also a good amount of legroom. As a full-size sedan, it really was considered an everyday performance vehicle, even if that means carpools for the kids. Don’t you wish your parents drove up to soccer practice in this?

The front seats were buckets, providing room for five passengers overall. It did offer eight-way power front drivers seats with lumbar support. Leather seating was the standard option here.

The radio system offered SIRIUS AM and satellite radio with an optional cassette player. An in-dash mounted CD player was available, or you could go with an optional MP3 capability system. The R/T model also offered steering wheel audio controls and a navigation system as optional features.

Bluetooth capability was also an optional feature here. You could also count on keeping those kids busy – the vehicle came with a standard 1st and 2nd row LCD screen.

And the Exterior of This Beast?

From the wing spoiler to the tilting glass sunroof, the 2007 Dodge Charger R/T really offers some nice exterior features. It also offered dual power remote mirrors, standard heated door mirrors, and 18-inch polished aluminum wheels.

Another cool offering for this model year was the color line up. From bright purples to that bright line, the colors released for the 2007 model really stood out and were some colors we haven’t seen since the 1970s.

Let’s Consider a Purchase of the 2007 Dodge Charger R/T

If you’re after the kind of car that’s going to turn heads (let’s not forget the sound of that engine coming down the street), the 2007 Dodge Charger R/T is going to do it. Take advantage of the upgraded body styling and bigger engine in this trim model. Find out why consumers love it by checking out the Vehicle History.
