The 2008 Saturn Astra XR has 138 horsepower, a 1.8L Ecotec 4 engine and the option of either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission. At Edmunds, the vehicle has received 4.5 out of 5 stars from consumers for its upscale interior design, sporty handling, and the sleek appearance of the two-door model.

The 2008 Saturn Astra XR: Two Trims

The nice thing about the 2008 Saturn Astra XR is that you can select from a sleek hatchback with two doors or a four-door version that makes it easy to get in and out of the vehicle. The two-door hatchback has 17-inch aluminum wheels, driver lumbar support and ABS and driveline traction control.

It has a slightly higher MSRP at $18,375 compared to the two-door version at $17,425. The two-door version has all the same features, minus the two doors, lumbar support, and slightly larger wheels. Instead, it has 16-inch aluminum wheels.
