2014 Toyota Corolla Offers Four Conservative Trims and Three Packages for the Basic but Dependable Commuter Car

The 2014 Toyota Corolla sedan is not known for its exciting performance, but even the base L trim gives you Bluetooth technology, A/C, and seating for five. The LE and LE Eco bring minor conveniences without smartphone app support. The S adds sporty accents like a spoiler.

Key Points

  •  The 2014 Toyota Corolla produced four distinct trims starting with the standard L, slightly upgraded LE, efficient LE Eco, and somewhat sporty S.
  • Work through errands without fuss in the L with an adequate 1.8L engine, manual seats, and Bluetooth technology for hands-free calling.
  • The LE and LE Eco introduce minor conveniences like a remote key fob, backup camera, and climate control.
  • The S says sport with its paddle shifters and bolstered seats, but you are left with the same small engine.
  • Discover more inspiring options on the Plus and Premium packages that bring perks like a moonroof, navigation, and heated seats to the table.

Find Just What You Need in the 2014 Toyota Corolla L with Manual Seats, One USB Port, and Power Mirrors

The entry-level 2014 Toyota Corolla L features the 1.8L engine producing an acceptable 132 horsepower paired with either the six-speed manual transmission or four-speed automatic.

Inside you will find just enough features to get you around town. The driver and front passenger seats include manual adjustments. The split rear seat folds down to expand the 13 cu. ft. trunk. Air conditioning, a single USB port, Bluetooth technology, a 12-volt auxiliary outlet, and standard radio round out the amenities.

On the exterior discover daytime running lamps, 15-inch steel wheels, power side mirrors, and color-keyed door handles.

Discover a Few Extra Comforts in the 2014 Corolla LE with Climate Control and an Upgraded Radio

The LE represents the most popular combination of upgrades for the 2014 Toyota Corolla. The four-speed automatic is replaced with the Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). The side mirrors get heat while a backup camera helps you to navigate crowded parking lots while avoiding fender benders. The keyed locks are switched to power and a remote fob.

Inside, stop fiddling with knobs when you use automatic climate control. Also, standard cruise control eliminates some of your daily commuting stress. An Entune infotainment center adds a few apps to the six-inch touchscreen and upgrades you to six speakers. There is no Apple CarPlay–only a connector for your old iPod. Still, you can stream or place a hands-free call with your phone.

2014 Toyota Corolla LE ECO-Toyota

The LE Eco Brings Added Efficiency to the 2014 Toyota Corolla and a Bump up in Performance

When you want to get the best fuel economy out of your 2014 Toyota Corolla, look for the LE Eco. It features the same engine and CVT but is tuned to achieve an EPA-estimated 40 mpg highway, which is 10% better than the 36 mpg highway earned by the L. It also garners an extra eight horsepower, resulting in a win/win for the owner.

The LE Eco includes all the same perks featured on the LE except for a set of 15-inch lightweight aluminum-alloy wheels and a rear deck spoiler. Both items improve aerodynamics while reducing drag.

2015 Corolla’s S Adds Sporty Accents Like a Spoiler and Fog Lights for a Premium Appearance Inside and Out

Do you need a bit more style for your daily driver? The 2014 Toyota Corolla S stands for Sport and brings 16-inch steel wheels with covers, a decklid spoiler, and fog lights to its exterior appearance. The side mirrors include turn signals along with power and heat.

Inside the cockpit, slide into bolstered sport seats. The paddle shifters take advantage of the Sport driving mode. Just press a button on the steering wheel-mounted controls to adjust audio volume, set the cruise control, or scroll through your contact list.

Discover the Features Most in Demand Like Alloy Wheels on the Plus and Premium Packages for 2014 Corolla LE, LE Eco, and S

There are just a few packages that were offered for the LE, LE Eco and the S. The Plus upgrades the 2014 Toyota Corolla to alloy wheels, adds a set of fog lights, and brings the Eco driving mode to the LE Eco.

When you spy Premium listed next to one of the trims, you slide into a power driver’s seat. Both the front passenger and pilot receive heat for their seats. Find a power moonroof on the LE as part of a separate option.

If you find an S Plus Premium, you hit the jackpot. A six-speed transmission switches out the CVT. The moonroof and a smart key for entry and push-button start are added. Finally, it receives everything in the Driver Convenience Package offered for the LE. That includes a SiriusXM satellite receiver, HD radio, navigation, and a security system.  You do give up the sport seats when you opt for the Premium or Plus Premium in the S.

2014 Toyota Corolla S-Toyota

The 2014 Toyota Corolla includes Standard Safety Systems but not the Autonomous Toyota Safety Sense Suite

Today when thinking of the Toyota brand, most expect to find the brand’s popular smart driver Toyota Safety Sense technology on board. Unfortunately, it is not part of the 2014 Toyota Corolla. However, all included safety features are standard across all trims.

Every one of the compact sedans includes traction and stability control which reduces the chance of a spin-out on slick exit ramps. Anti-lock brakes rapidly pulse during an emergency stop preventing the likelihood of a skid. Front passengers have dash-mounted and seat-side airbags. The rear row features side curtain airbags.

A tire pressure monitoring system warns you when a tire needs air so you can prevent damage to your wheels when you run over a nail.

Think Conservative when Looking at the 2014 Toyota Corolla as the Top Trims Do not Improve its Performance

The 2014 Toyota Corolla is one of the most popular and dependable compact commuter cars out there. While the base L trim only includes minimal comforts and conveniences, it provides everything that you need. If you can find an LE Eco, it is the smartest choice for its improved economy without giving up any perks. The top-tier S may give you a few upgrades over the other trims, but unless you find one kitted out with the Plus Premium package, it is not close to a luxury vehicle.

The 2014 Toyota Corolla S has great gas mileage and has never given me any problems!
This vehicle gets great gas mileage! It's very compact so it is not a great family car. I have never had any problems with it and it has only gone in for oil changes. It has a great backup camera and Bluetooth! However, the past year or so my Bluetooth disconnects often. There is a hands free phone option, however, the person I am talking to on the phone can never hear me very well. The seats are comfortable and the ac works well. I do wish the car was bigger as it does not fit much in it. I get about 30 miles to the gallon and it has an eco mode and sport mode. The cruise control is awesome and works well. The back seat has a pretty good amount of legroom for it being a small car and the trunk is decent sized.

The 2014 Toyota corolla le. Is a fantastically safe and reliable car.
I have a 2014 Toyota corolla bought brand new. I drive the car everyday to and from work. I have a very long commute. The Toyota is good on gas mileage and maintenance. I trust Toyota so I am not worried about any breakdowns. Maintenance is easy enough for me to keep up with. I have had no major issues with my car. I have over 100,000 miles on it and it stills drives as good as the first day. If Toyota could make Carolla's any better. I would only suggest that for people like me who drive long commutes is to make plush bucket seats ergonomically friendly. Oh and also make leather seats in carolla's that can be afforded by the average person.

2014 Toyota Corolla L - Reliable, Comfortable, and Fun To Drive
I have driven my 2014 Toyota Corolla for over 5 years and 58k miles. Outside of regular maintenance, I've only had to replace the (3 year) battery and get a recharge of the AC system after over 5 years (no leaks). Unfortunately, the electronic locks started to not work intermittently at around 30-35k miles. The cost of repair was too high considering that it is just a mild inconvenience and I didn't get it to the dealership prior to the warranty on those components lapsing due to mileage. This is a comfortable car to sit in even for me at 6 foot 4 inches tall.

Dependable 2014 Toyota corolla S.
My car is very economic on gas, I can up 360 miles city driving and about 400 highway miles. For a small car it is pretty comfortable; I can 5 people in total. The seats are also comfortable, they are a blend of leather and cloth fabric. I have had the car for 5 years and have never broken down. I would recommend this car to anyone. The only downside is that it is a bit loud inside when driving on the highway. Also the touch screen radio is malfunctioning on one side.

I almost never have to go to the gas station in my 2014 Corolla S!
I love my car. Reliable, great gas mileage, great visibility. The rear camera is really good quality, better than newer model cars I have seen by other companies. I have nothing negative to say about my car. I am completely satisfied with it. I will probably stick with a Toyota corolla with my next vehicle but get certain things custom, like leather seats. I bought mine used so I didn't get to chose the coloring. That is the only thing I would change.

2014 Toyota corolla le eco is the way to go.
The car itself is very comfortable. The only real complaint I have is the fact that any time you accelerate over 65 miles an hour, the car begins to shake. We have had the car for 6 years now, and we average about 25 mpg in the city and about 35 on the highway; filling the gas tank is also very cheap as we only spend just under $20 when we fill up. Overall, I would highly recommend the car to other consumers.

Young family car with great gas mileage: 2014 Corolla LE ECO
This is a great car to drive in the city and on long trips. We use our car to drive 10 hour road trips and only need to fill up twice along the way. It is about 36 mpg which is really nice. The only thing is that it is not a fancy car and not for large families. It is wonderful otherwise and with the small starter family it is amazing! Very reliable and with being a Toyota it is not hard to maintain.

The benefits and great features of the 2014 Toyota corolla LE
The 2014 Toyota corolla is great car to get by. I do not pay for gas too frequently since it is an economy car. The systems in my car include Bluetooth so it helps me keep track with incoming calls and messages. I am able to do that hands free. Seats are comfortable and easy to decline and retract. Finally, the drive is very smooth. I have had this care for 5 years now and I have no problems with it.

This 2014 Corolla S with almost 200,000 miles is still reliable, and safe.
My car is now 6 years old and it is still performing like we just bought it a week ago. I drive quite a bit in town and on the highway and have never had any issues breaking suddenly or speeding up quickly. It handles well in the snow, with winter tires, as well as in the rain. For the 6 years we have had this car, it's almost to 200,000 miles and is still as reliable as it was 6 years ago.

A 2014 corolla le, great little budget car.
My corolla has been extremely reliable since I have owned it. Keeping up with regular maintenance is the only thing I have had to do. For being a budget car, the ride is pretty smooth and there’s not much delay when you press on the gas to merge on the highway. The only issue is that it can be loud, since the seals on the door are pretty cheap. It is easy to hear the wind on the freeway.

Toyota corolla ECO - great for getting around town and traveling.
I have had no problems with my vehicle. We first got it for a town car but now I do a lot of traveling via vehicle and it is great! It gets great gas mileage and is well built. The interior is very comfortable with leather and cloth seats. There is a lot of room in the back seats so you do not feel cramped. The trunk also has a lot of room for storage. It is a all around great car.

Corolla LE is the best 'First' car!
Very comfortable reliable vehicle that meet my needs. Have not had any problems so far due to servicing the car at the dealer twice a year. Toyota is a good reliable company if you are looking to buy cars that you want to use daily and from my experience corolla is the best one to choose. My car provides good mileage which was a major thing I was looking for when selecting my car.

Back up safely with a 2014 Toyota corolla le eco.
I prefer to be higher up in vehicles but at the time I had to buy a new vehicle and this car was more in my price range. It does drive nicely, I love having the back up camera, and like that I can attach my Bluetooth for music and phone calls. One feature that never worked was the ability to connect your phone and do a hands free call by hitting a button on the steering wheel.

The Toyota corolla s 2014 is a great car!
I love my Toyota corolla! It has everything I could possibly need. It drives great and I know it will drive good for awhile. The performance is great. It holds about 380 miles on a full tank. I love this for when I travel. My corolla has leather and heated seats. They are very comfortable to sit in. The front and back passenger seats are very comfortable and spacious.

Such a reliable car! Couldn't be more impressed with 2014 Corolla L
My Toyota Corolla is so reliable! It has over 100,000 miles on it and still runs like it has 10,000. I haven't had the best luck with cars so it's a huge relief to finally have a reliable car. It also gets incredible gas mileage so it doesn't break the bank to fill up the tank. It rides very comfortably and smoothly and does great on the highway.

2014 Toyota corolla L review from a satisfied customer.
I bought my 2014 Toyota corolla in Aug 2019. I have not had one single issue or problem whatsoever with this car. I was curious how it would handle the snow and it handle the snow wonderfully. I didn't have any problems driving in the snow. The gas mileage is about 24 mpg. I am an extremely satisfied customer and will buy Toyotas in the future.

Great basic car, very reliable. 2014 Corolla L
The car is comfortable and convenient. It can fit 5 people easily. It is not the most powerful car (takes a while to accelerate), but drives very well. It is very reliable and I have not had any major issues. It gets very good mileage and lets you known when you are driving at an energy efficient speed. Heating and ac works great.
accountCircle Nyssa V on August 8, 2021
The mileage for a full gas tank is the best on the 2014 Corolla ECO
I love that the gas lasts a pretty long time, whether it's full or a quarter. Speed and braking are excellent. The car itself is a little low to the ground and it does feel like it's a bit bulky despite not looking like it. Mine does not have cruise control which is a downside if you like to travel with your own car.

2014 Toyota corolla L is a great car.
I cannot complain about my corolla. It has been a great car. I am the second owner, got it in 2016. I never had any mechanical issues with it, it is economic when it comes to gas and maintenance. I just wish it had a little bit more modern features but you can definitely get those with other models of the corolla.
accountCircle Jeremiah J on September 4, 2021
My 2014 Corolla L runs well at over 176000 miles!
Very reliable at over 176000 miles. It has been relatively cheap to maintain. It runs really well and smoothly. Plenty of trunk space. I do not spend much time in the back, but it does seat 3 adults comfortably. The gas mileage is below average for a midsize sedan and that is the biggest problem I have had.
accountCircle Jill H on August 17, 2021
Reliable vehicle with nice design and tech features: 2014 Corolla LE
Smooth ride, great audio and ac, controls on steering wheel, safe, reliable, no major maintenance issues, nice interior, comfortable, sleek design, good color selection, Bluetooth connectivity that is easy to set up, USB plug is convenient, only real issue is that seats stain really easily even from water.

2014 gray Toyota corolla l.
I drive a 2014 Toyota corolla. The only problem I have with it is how low it is to the ground. Coming out of certain types of parks especially ones on slight hills is difficult. It is grey with beige cloth seats. The corolla is very reliable and has amazing gas mileage. I can feel my corolla up on $25.
accountCircle Samuel G on September 24, 2021
I love my 2014 corolla LE, the value of the car is the selling point.
Reliable, low clearance though. The pickup is very poor though and you really need to hit the gas to get to a decent speed. The cost is good and the car is highly reliable. Parts are easy to find and therefore are significantly cheaper. My model does not have cruise control though.

2014 Toyota corolla L basic model.
I like my car. It the basic model and I like the Bluetooth capability but sometimes it does not connect my phone I have to turn the car off and start again for it to pick up. Good on gas. Maintenance is reasonable it cost effective. Comfort level is basic nothing especial.

My wonderful 2014 corolla LE is a great family car.
The car is very reliable, and has comfortable seats. Bluetooth connectivity is strong, and easy to set up. In addition, the car is easy to drive and great to use as a family car. Mine is at 80,000 miles, and wonderful to cruise around town or just short jaunts for errands.
