2015 Honda Civic is available in over seven different configurations, offering a trim for every driver. The popular compact car has three fuel-efficient versions, a performance edition, and a few tech-loaded options.
Key Points
- The 2015 Honda Civic’s base LX trim offers buyers minimal technology at an affordable price but doesn’t skip the basics like Bluetooth, power windows/locks, and a rearview camera.
- There are several fuel-sipping options like the HF, Hybrid, and Natural Gas versions. For maximum mpg, the Hybrid Civic averages an impressive 44 combined.
- The SE is a particularly great buy, because it’s cheaper and offers more technology than the LX, including Honda LaneWatch and a larger center touchscreen.
- At the top of the list is the luxuriously-equipped EX-L and the performance-tuned SI. The former adds features like leather seats and 17-inch wheels, and the latter adds a standard manual transmission, a limited-slip differential, and more.
Base Model LX Has Decent Standard Technology, Including Backup Camera, Power Windows, and Cruise Control
Honda designates the base model trim for the 2015 Civic as the “LX”. Although it’s the base model, it comes with adequate features. Technology included on the base model Civic includes a backup camera with guidelines, Bluetooth integration, power windows and locks, and cruise control.
All Civics, aside from the Hybrid and Si come with Honda’s 143-horsepower, 1.8L straight-four engine. The LX is still rather affordable with a fair market range of $13,796 to $16,630.
SE Trim is Cheaper than the LX and Adds Alloy Wheels, LaneWatch, and a Touchscreen
Amazingly, the SE not only brings more technology, but it is also cheaper than the LX model. Prices range from $12,980 to $15,735. It is important to note, however, the SE trim is only available on the sedan. What additional technology does it add? First and foremost, it replaces the steel wheels found on the LX with alloys. It also upgrades the rearview camera by adding dynamic guidelines.
To make drivers more comfortable, the SE adds automatic climate control. Honda’s LaneWatch technology is included, this uses a camera mounted on the mirror to show drivers the right lane is safe before changing over. Finally, it replaces the basic infotainment system with a seven-inch touchscreen system.
2015 Civic EX Mixes in Moonroof, Push-button Start, and Automatic Headlights for Significant Price Increase
The EX-trim adds lots of frivolous features to the SE Civic. It adds technology you don’t necessarily need like a moonroof, 16-inch alloy wheels, and push-button start. However, it also adds some useful technology like smart entry and automatic headlights. All of these features make the EX slightly more expensive, with prices ranging from $14,694 to $18,160.
Luxurious EX-L Trim Level Features Leather Interior and Heated Seats and Mirrors
Although the “L” in EX-L stands for leather, the trim actually adds a few bonus features besides just leather. The EX-L comes with 17-inch alloy wheels and fog lights. Additionally, it comes with a leather interior, including a leather-wrapped steering wheel and leather seats.
Moreover, it adds heated seats in the front and heated side mirrors. For the sedan Civic, drivers get an eight-way adjustable power seat. All of these features add less than $1,000 to the EX trim, for a range of about $15,578 to $18,994.
Additionally, Honda offers the EX-L trim with Navigation. When equipped with this, owners receive a voice-activated navigation system, multi-angle backup camera, HD radio, and SiriusXM radio. These few features only add a few hundred dollars to the price for a range of $15,779 to $17,148.
Sporty Si Offers a Larger Engine for the Most Money
Si stands for Sport Injected, so it’s no surprise that it’s the performance model of the Civic lineup. Unsurprisingly, more performance costs more money, with a price range of $17,405 to $21,030 for the Si, it’s almost $2,000 more expensive than the next Civic. Like the EX-L trim, it also provides a navigation option, which costs buyers an extra $200 on average.
The Si offers drivers better performance thanks to its 205-horsepower 2.4L inline-four engine, six-speed manual transmission, and limited-slip differential. It also adds some sporty accents on the inside of the vehicle such as an aluminum shift knob, aluminum pedals, red gauges, and a tachometer with a rev-limiter indicator. It comes with several creature comforts like smart entry, Honda’s LaneWatch, push-button start, and a touch-screen infotainment system.
2015 Civic HF’s Aerodynamics and Tuning will Save Drivers Money at the Pump
Model year 2015 was the last that the Civic HF would be offered by Honda. HF stands for high fuel economy, and it was simply just a very aerodynamic sedan tuned for efficiency, and capable of 31/40 highway/city mpg. It comes with the same 143 horsepower engine found in every other Civic and has technology similar to an LX Civic. Prices for the aerodynamic HF range from $12,793 to $15,538.
Hybrid Civic is Very Affordable and Offers Great Driver’s Technology
The Civic Hybrid comes with a 1.5L four-cylinder engine. It’s the most technologically advanced Civic, coming with driving assists like forward collision warning, lane departure warning, and Honda’s LaneWatch system.
It also comes with smart entry, automatic climate control, and push-button start. What’s more, expect an EPA-estimated 44-mpg average out of the Civic Hybrid, the model’s most efficient powertrain. Optional for the hybrid is a navigation system and leather upholstery. Prices for the hybrid are relatively cheap, ranging from $11,226 to $13,863.
2015 Civic Natural Gas is the Cheapest Model, with Pre-owned Prices Ranging from $11,000 to $14,000
The Honda Civic Natural Gas started production in 1998, and 2015 would mark the last year for the model. It comes equipped with a 1.8L inline-four engine linked up to a five-speed automatic transmission. It has admirable technology like a backup camera with dynamic guidelines, Honda’s LaneWatch, and a touch-screen infotainment system.
Additionally, automatic climate control, leather seats, heated mirrors and seats, and navigation are all optional for the Natural Gas version. The Civic Natural Gas is the cheapest of the Civics with a price range of $11,207 to $13,838.
With So Many Options, There’s a Civic to Suit Every Driver’s Taste
With so many options, Honda didn’t make buying a Civic easy. There really is a Civic for everyone with fuel-sipping options like the HF, hybrid, or natural gas versions. For the techy driver, there’s the top-of-the-line EX-L with navigation. Drivers who just need an “A to B” vehicle should check out the no-frills LX trim. Finally, for those who prefer performance, there’s the sport Si.
