Key Points

  • The 2016 Honda CR-V makes it easy to find the SUV loaded with the features that you most desire. Its five trims start with the decently equipped LX and climb to the Touring that includes Honda Sensing safety technology.
  • The base LX gives you plenty of room for your family of five, a 185-hp engine, and your choice of front or all-wheel drive. Bluetooth hands-free calling and cruise control are included.
  • The SE trim is supposed to stand for sport, but all it gives you is a nicer set of wheels and tinted glass.
  • The EX represents the most popular option after the LX as it brings a moonroof, smart key, and heated front seats. The EX-L adds leather trim and a premium sound system.
  • Drive with added confidence in the Touring and the autonomous driver-assist features such as smart cruise control and lane-departure mitigation.

2016 Honda CR-V LX Includes Bluetooth Technology, a Backup Camera, and Cruise Control as Standard Equipment

The base LX trim on the 2016 Honda CR-V provides a nice bang for your buck. Equipped with the 2.4L 185-horsepower engine and continuously variable transmission, it has all the muscle required for commuting and weekend adventures. All trims were offered with front-wheel or all-wheel drive and boast a spacious 37.2 cu. ft. of cargo space behind the second-row seats.

Hands-free calling and streaming are available through Bluetooth and a single USB port. Cruise control, steering wheel-mounted controls, and a backup camera round out the tech toys. You also have a tire pressure monitoring system, daytime running lights, and a split-folding back seat.

2016 Honda CR-V SE Trim Adds Minimal Upgrades, Including Privacy Glass, Set of 17-inch Alloy Wheels

The SE could be listed as an LX with an appearance package. The sport version of the 2016 Honda CR-V gives you 17-inch alloy wheels, which are larger and dressier than the standard 16-inch steel wheels. Privacy glass is a nice upgrade as it protects your kids and your backpacks from prying eyes. The proximity security system sounds an alarm if somebody bumps into the car or tries to jimmy the ignition. The SE gives you no performance or interior upgrades, so avoid paying extra for this trim.

2016 CR-V EX’s Heated Front Seats, Push-button Start, Moonroof Provide Extra Comfort and Luxury

If you want a compact SUV loaded with a decent combination of the most popular perks look at the 2016 Honda CR-V EX. The fun starts with a power moonroof and heated front seats. A smart key stays in your purse or backpack while unlocking the door and enabling the push-to-start ignition. The power driver’s seat features lumbar support.

A seven-inch touchscreen connects you to your infotainment system. The HondaLink app is included, which allows you to access roadside assistance, check your maintenance history, and set up an appointment at the dealer via your iPhone. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are not available.

Blindspot detection appears at this level but only issues an audible and visual alert. You need to look at the Touring if you want autonomous driver-assist features.

2016 CR-V EX-L’s Enhanced Luxury Includes Leather-trimmed Seats, Climate Control

Do you expect leather-trimmed seating in your daily driver? The 2016 Honda CR-V EX-L adds that premium feature to the EX list of amenities. Roof rails give you the option of securing a bike, luggage, ski, or boat rack up top. The heated power side mirrors include turn signals and the dual-zone automatic climate control maintains a steady cabin temperature. You get to rock out to the seven-speaker 328-watt surround sound system while listening to your favorite SiriusXM subscription shows. Voice-controlled navigation also appears on the infotainment system.

2016 CR-V Touring Trim’s Power Tailgate Adds Modern Touch Along with Smart Safety Features

The top trim for the 2016 Honda CR-V is the Touring, but you won’t be wowed by a custom interior. The real difference for this ride is its suite of Honda Sensing technology. If the SUV detects a person or obstacle in the road, it will apply the brakes to avoid a collision.

Smart cruise control works to keep a safe distance between you and other cars during evening commutes. The lane-keeping feature watches the dotted lines and nudges your steering to put you back on track while sounding an alert. A power tailgate, two-person driver memory, and a set of 18-inch wheels complete the perks.

2016 Honda CR-V EX is the Best Trim Option with the most Practical and Affordable Features

If you are on the hunt for a reliable compact SUV and don’t need a bunch of bells and whistles, the 2016 Honda CR-V LX provides a nice mix of function and comforts in a base model. The EX gives you most of the tech toys that you want without splurging for leather or navigation.

If safety is a key consideration, only the Touring has the smart driver-assist technologies that you need. Whichever vehicle you choose, you will be joining a legion of loyal and satisfied owners.

Pros and cons of 2016 body style touring CR-V.
The navigation system and computer system as a whole is really not user friendly. The newer cars have phone mirroring capabilities and allow you to use apps from your phone which is much more intuitive. I never use a lot of the features on the screen because of usability issues. The hands free voice command system also is low quality compared to other cars. Hard to program and use, not intuitive and also does not pick up your voice well. Where the USB and power plugs are located inside the center console is really inconvenient if you have literally any items inside of the storage area. The hands free does not connect to your phone as seamlessly as other car brands. The good is that it is an extremely reliable vehicle Haven't had any performance issues as long as regular maintenance is done. The rear and side view cameras are amazing. The front camera for cruise control is my favorite and makes driving anywhere such a breeze. Very comfortable ride, spacious. Feels luxurious inside cabin.

Honda CR-V LX 2016 review based on my experiences.
I have a very low end model of the CR-V. I like this model because I Does not have touch screens which I hate and cannot use. I like having buttons and knobs and cruise control. The gas mileage is also very good as I average anywhere from 30-38 depending on where I am driving. I have not had any issues with my car except for the initial tires I received. I had to replace my tires after less than 40k miles even though they were supposed to be some of the nicer tires on the market. I do not drive my car hard so that was unexpected. I like all the room the car has to offer as it has allowed me to put off buying a truck since I can fit so much stuff inside it.

I like my 2016 Honda CR-V LX.
It's pretty basic and I consider it very reliable. I haven't had any issues with it as of yet and I've owned it for almost 3 years. It drives nice, it's comfortable. It is loud on the inside though when you're on the road, especially on the highway when speed gets above 60. I wish it were quieter as it's hard to hear the radio and I have to turn up the volume quite a bit. This is my only real negative experience with this car. Other than that, it handles well and is comfortable and suits my needs as a reliable vehicle for daily use and for long road trips.

2016 CR-V LX: Best car I've had with comfort, easy maintenance, and excellent technology!
I absolutely adore my Honda CR-V! I bought it because I live in a area where AWD is necessary but wanted to comfort/class that Honda provides. I haven't had a single problem with my CR-V and we often take long trips. It is large enough for comfort but small enough to take anywhere. The AWD handling is easy for city to mountain drives. Regular maintenance is always affordable and never have any issues finding whatever I need for the vehicle. Best car and I don't see myself ever getting rid of it! Perfect pass down through generations car!

2016 Honda CR-V SE: a modern, safe, and durable choice.
I love this vehicle. In the past 4 years it has driven great with minimal maintenance required. It is a smooth ride and has many great features. I love the sun roof, heated seats, and Bluetooth enabled equipment. It is very modern and up-to-date with the latest car features out there. I would highly recommend this vehicle and purchase another one. The car is safe and durable. I would recommend this car for parents also looking for a vehicle for their teenagers to practice on because of its air-bag and amazing safety features.

2016 CR-V Touring: Nice vehicle, a little small.
I love my 2016 Honda CR-V in almost every aspect. The only issue I have with it is, sometimes I feel like it is a touch small. The most recent issue is I cannot fit a plastic kiddie pool larger than 36 inches in it. I love that it is bigger than my old Toyota corolla, it fits more stuff in general, but it is still a little too small to carry everything that I have wanted to transport. Moving is easier with this car than my corolla, but still many trips to the storage unit. In general I do love my Honda CR-V.

2016 Honda CR-V LX honest review - three years of reliability
I enjoy my Honda CR-V and love driving it for work and personal use. The gas mileage is great and in the three years that I have had the car, I have not had one problem with it. Vehicle maintenance is easy and affordable, and I have never struggled with finding tires or other required maintenance materials (filter, oil, etc). The car drives smoothly and brakes properly. Handling in inclement weather is reliable and the car is capable of breaking in time, when necessary.

The 2016 Honda CR-V LX is awesome. I would buy a new one and recommend to family.
I have not had any problems with my vehicle due to the simple fact that I get regular oil changes have routine maintenance done twice a year or as needed I change out and rotate the tires regularly and I am a very cautious driver obeying speed limits, regular car washes with detailing. I get excellent gas mileage, I do a lot of in town driving as well as over the road traveling. It has great passenger and cargo space.

The 2016 Honda CR-V EX is simple and reliable.
The Honda CR-V is comfortable seating for a small family. I have not experienced any issues with the vehicle. The 2016 model provides Bluetooth connectivity which is helpful. Additionally, I appreciate the backup camera. The Honda CR-V also has more than ample cargo space for things such as groceries, luggage and other necessities and small family would need for travel. The Honda CR-V accelerated and brakes well.

The best car ever is a 2016 Honda CR-V LX
I love my Honda CR-V. With regular maintenance I have had no problems. I have driven many miles and taking long trips with ease and comfort. It runs so quietly I occasionally restart it when it is already running. I love the Bluetooth feature of my radio that enables me to talk to friends hands-free while driving. During a long trip I can listen to an audiobook for plays CDs. I plan to keep my Honda forever.

Fantastic features on the 2016 CR-V EX!
I love that my car has heated seats! This is very beneficial in the cold winter months! On the other hand, I love my sunroof! So great for the summer! I also love the cameras on my car. The backup camera is great for tight spaces and the passenger-side camera is great for seeing that blind spot and getting out of tight spaces. I also love how much space I have in my car! So much room for all of my needs!

My Safe and Comfortable CR-V Touring 2016
Love my CR-V. I bought the Touring model for all the safety features including front end collision notification and out of lane notification. Love the heated seats in winter! The sun roof helps cool things off quickly on summer! It drives like a car, easy to manage and way to get in and out. I have the safety of a larger vehicle without it being too much to handle.

2016 Honda CR-V Touring, couple years old, but still drives like new.
I drive a silver Honda CR-V and it typically runs great! I can get around 288 miles from a full tank of gas. It holds around 12-15 gallons of gas, so a typically fill-up costs around 21-25 dollars. It comes with Bluetooth and a review camera, which really helps with parking. It can seat up to 5 people, and it has a spacious rear.

2016 CR-V EX has side and backup cameras
I love the side and back up cameras. The fact I can fold the seats down to fill up my trunk when we go camping or leave them up for additional people is great. The heated seats keep me toasty in the winter. It is a very easy to use car and I cannot wait to have kids so we can all enjoy the car together. Also the color is amazing.

I love my 2016 Honda CR-V EX-L -- gas mileage is the best.
My Honda CR-V is beautiful. It is silver in color with gray leather interior. Its horsepower and acceleration is wonderful. There is no hesitation. The safety features are top-notch. To date, there have been no mechanical problems whatsoever. The only addition, I can think of to this vehicle would be a no-hands hatch opening.

Overall, the 2016 CR-V SE is an excellent car for individuals and small families.
The CR-V is very reliable. It gets great gas mileage for highway and city driving. It is comfortable for short and long trips. There is plenty of cargo space for luggage, bikes, etc. It has great maneuverability for its size. The features, including the rear view camera, are excellent, and the Bluetooth connectivity is great.

Honda 2016 cr v touring model.
I love the heated seats, the back up camera is very helpful and has a clear image. The touch screen is very up to date. Good size not too big but plenty of space. Only thing I do not care for is the navigation system that is installed in the car, it is difficult to use and doesn't choose the best routes.

2016 CR-V Touring: My perfect vehicle: I love it!
I have had no problems with my 2016 CR-V at all. I love driving it. It is reliable, comfortable, and I feel very safe in it. I feel very comfortable driving my son and his friends around. The leather cleans up easily. I love the color (dark blue!). I will keep driving it as long as I can!

2016 Honda CR-V ex l AWD
Great gas mileage, AWD, comfortable. Radio screen could be better. Too much glare with sunroof open. Phone screen does not display names on incoming calls. Both are annoying. Great quality, nice body style. I would buy another in a second, hoping my previous concerns were resolved.

This CR-V runs smoothly and we have had no issues with it. Is has been driven cross country and for multiple moves with no issues. The cargo space is great for moving some furniture. It handles smoothly and is comfortable to ride in. It is a 2016 but feels like it is newer.

Quick review of Honda CR-V EX 2016.
I am not a huge fan of the way a Honda drives, compared to a Toyota. But, it is reliable car and I have had no issues since my purchase. The audio is great, and hands-free works well. The seats are comfy, and back seats sit two people comfortably. The trunk is very large.
