2019 Ram 1500 Big Horn From Front Side

Finding a truck that you can depend on and also enjoy using for long hours can sometimes be hard to do. When you need a truck, you can rely on for the days of hard work and ongoing hauling, you may think about a 2019 Ram 1500 Big Horn.

What does the 2019 Ram 1500 Big Horn have to offer?

A mid-level trim option, the 2019 Ram 1500 Big Horn features a 3.6-LO V6 engine with an 8-speed automatic and auto-manual transmission. This 4×4 is available in a crew cab with room for up to six people.

There’s much more the Big Horn offers, including some nice interior comfort features. You may find this vehicle is just for you. Before making that decision, check out a review by Neighborhood Car Reviews.

We’re also breaking down some of the key specs of this trim here. You can get all of the specs by checking out the 2019 Ram 1500 Big Horn’s Vehicle History.

What’s on Board the 2019 Ram 1500 Big Horn?

You have plenty of vehicles to choose from in the 2019 Ram 1500 lineup. The Big Horn, which was rebranded in Texas and sold as the Lone Star, is a mid-range option. Below it are the Tradesman and the HFE. The upper trim options include the Laramie, Rebel, and Longhorn.

Here’s a video that provides a nice review of the vehicle. Check out all of the video footage to know what you can expect.

It’s a sweet vehicle with ample features and some nice extras. Let’s break down some of the specs.

The vehicle comes with a 3.6L V6 engine. That engine produces 305 horsepower and gets 269 lb-ft. It includes an 8-speed automatic and auto-manual transmission and is available as both a 4×2 and a 4×4 with both crew and quad cab setups.

When it comes to work, this truck can pull 6460 pounds of weight and has the ability to handle 1810 pounds of capacity. That’s plenty big enough whether you’re pulling a work trailer or a small camper.

Some drivers may want even more power. That’s available in the 2019 Big Horn. You can upgrade to the 5.7L V8 engine. That will give you 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft. — a pretty big jump in power.

The 3.6- engine gets an EPA-estimated 20 city, and 25 highway for a combed 22 miles per gallon.

That’s not bad for a pickup truck of this size.

Across the board, this vehicle has some good features, but it also has some available options that seem to fit well for those seeking a bit more. These become standard on some of the upper trims.

That includes a rear locking differential and a limited-slip differential.

A Quasi-dual stainless steel exhaust system is also available. Choose a chrome or a black tailpipe, just because.

As far as handling, it’s a solid vehicle with standard heavy-duty rear shocks, rack and pinion steering, and 18-inch tires. You can upgrade to 20-inch wheels, rear air springs, and all-terrain tires. It all depends on what type of work or play you plan to engage in with your 2019 Ram 1500.

From the video, you can see that the Big Horn is comfortable and roomy. It has a higher quality of cloth seating for this trim, but there’s still the ability to upgrade to a higher premium cloth upholstery if you want. Leather isn’t an option on this trim.

This truck also offers an optional power reclining driver seat and driver and passenger heated-seatbacks, which may be a bit disappointing as competitors offer these as standard features. It feels good with ample legroom and head space in the truck.

The 2019 Ram 1500 Big Horn has the same standard features as the lower models in entertainment with a 6-speaker setup, a touchscreen, and wireless phone connectivity. It also features voice-activated radio. There are upgrades to 10 premium speakers, speed-sensitive volume, and real-time weather display.

As for using your truck, there are a lot of onboard safety and driver-assist features. This includes a front and rear reverse sensing system and a ParkView rear camera. If you want a bit more help with parking, ParkSense front and rear parking sensors are available as an option.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gives the 2019 Ram 1500 a five-star safety rating. It’s easy to see this truck was built to last with its strong framing and bold look.

The biggest drawback for this truck is that even as a 2019 (It’s only October of 2020 at this writing), the truck has 21 recalls. This spans everything from the engine to the fuel tank, tires, electrical system, and brakes.

Should You Check out the Big Horn?

There’s plenty to like about this car. As a mid-trim level, it has most of what you need with a few extras. It doesn’t come close to the added tech and towing features on the higher end models (which are also more luxurious inside).
