If you love to go off-road, then you may be looking into buying a new Jeep Wrangler. The 2018 Jeep Wrangler Sahara is one trim to consider as you select your next vehicle.

What’s in the 2018 Jeep Wrangler Sahara?

The Sahara trim is considered to be the “most civilized” trim of the Wranglers that year. It has full-time four-wheel drive, but you can also select 2-Hi, 4-Hi or 4-Lo settings if you would like.

In this article, we’ll go over the impressive specs of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler Sahara trim. Read on to learn more about this model and if it’s right for you.

Get to Know the 2018 Jeep Wrangler Sahara

The 2018 Jeep Wrangler Sahara trim is considered a higher-level trim, but it is squarely in the middle of the base model Sport, Sport S, Moab and Rubicon. It also sits in the middle of the price range, which makes it a more affordable trim than the Moab or Rubicon.

At the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s website, the 2018 Jeep Wrangler is shown to have 10 recalls. It did not have front or side-crash ratings, but its rollover rating was three out of five stars.

The recalls varied from door latches coming undone unexpectedly to seatbelts separating from their frames. Consumers who made complaints were more likely to be concerned about the vehicle’s suspension than anything else.

For example, in one complaint, the consumer said that the vehicle started to shake and wobble for no apparent reason around 16,000 miles. Another consumer said that the steering wheel became loose and that the vehicle felt wobbly as well.

The New 2018 Jeep Wrangler Sahara Trim

The 2018 Jeep Wrangler Sahara trim is one to look at if you want the right power combined with a comfortable interior. This vehicle has four-wheel drive and a 3.6L V-6 engine with 24 valves, variable valve timing upgrade, and Engine Stop Start.  It has 260 foot-pounds of torque and 270 horsepower.

It holds up to 72.4 cubic feet of cargo, and you’ll appreciate that it can tow up to 3,500 pounds as well.

Inside, you can seat five.

The gas engine gets 22 mpg in city and 24 mpg on the highway. It also holds up to 21.5 gallons of fuel, so you can travel a distance without needing to stop. Inside, you have a six-speed automatic transmission with overdrive to get you where you’re going.

Inside, you’ll love that the interior features 60-40 folding split-bench seats, illuminated cup holders and an outside temperature gauge. There is Smart Device integration, and you’ll have eight Alpine speakers to blast your favorite music.

You’ll stay safe in the Wrangler thanks to anti-lock brakes, Driveline traction control, airbag occupancy sensors, and a ParkView back-up camera.
