What is included with the 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo trim?

The Laredo trim is the base trim for the Grand Cherokee. It has a 4.0L 6-cylinder with 190 horsepower. It has cloth seats and 16-inch aluminum wheels. The spare tire is under the cargo area, which increases cargo capacity.

The 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee

The Grand Cherokee was redesigned in 1999, with few changes for the 2000 model. It’s larger than its sibling, the Cherokee. It is 181 inches long and has nearly 9 inches of ground clearance.

The transmission is a four-speed automatic transmission standard. It has an admirable towing capacity. The standard model can tow 5,000 pounds and has a payload capacity of 1,150.

Crash ratings raised some concerns. IHS gave it good ratings for head and chest, but poor for head restraint and bumpers. The   gave it four stars overall. However, the driver and passenger front crash ratings were three stars.

2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo Trim

One of the key differences between the Laredo and the higher Limited trim is the type of four-wheel drive offered. Both are available as a 4×2 and a 4×4.

The Laredo has the Command-Trac system, which is part-time four-wheel drive. The Limited trim has the Select-Trac system, which is full-time four-wheel drive. It also gives the driver more control over the way the four-wheel-drive operates.

Most features that are standard on the Limited trim are optional on the Laredo. It has electronic transmission control and a lock-up torque converter. It has an optional limited-slip differential.

The Grand Cherokee provides a smooth ride and off-road performance. It has front and rear coil springs and gas-pressurized shocks. Front and rear roll bars help maintain stability.

The Laredo has power windows with one touch up and down. An overhead console, front and rear cup holders, and door bins provide convenient storage. There’s also a full floor console with a covered box

It has driver and passenger vanity mirrors, and a daylight/dark rearview mirror. The tilt steering wheel and cruise control make the vehicle comfortable to drive.

Optional features include remote keyless entry and a sliding sunroof. You can also choose illuminated entry and illuminated vanity mirrors. An auto-dimming rearview mirror is also available.
