As of September 2020, no. However, there were numerous owner complaints and problems recorded concerning this issue, including:

Vehicle Went into Limp Mode with Transmission Malfunction Warning

According to the owner, an unknown malfunction caused the vehicle to go into limp mode. The transmission malfunction warning light also appeared on the dashboard.
The vehicle was taken into service, and service advisors initially diagnosed an oil leak, faulty air tube, and the need for a programming update.
However, the service advisor later pinpointed the problem to a timing chain failure and recommended replacement.
It is unknown whether the manufacturer provided repairs or if the owner performed repairs at their own expense.
Timing Chain Failure Due to Broken Chain Guard

The owner of a 2013 BMW X3 reported a timing chain failure likely caused by a broken timing chain guard. The timing chain failure subsequently led to engine failure.
The owner was informed of the N20 timing chain issue and that the component was supposedly upgraded in 2015.
It is unknown whether the vehicle received repairs for this issue.
High-Pressure Fuel Pump Replacement/Timing Chain Inspection

During a routine inspection, the complainant was informed that their 2013 BMW 328Xi required a timing chain replacement.
The vehicle previously underwent repairs for a high-pressure fuel pump due to a previous stall during vehicle operation.
The owner later learned of issues surrounding the N20 timing chain. As of this complaint, the owner has yet to replace the timing chain.
Premature Timing Chain Failure
NHTSA Complaint ID: 11351232
According to the complaint, the owner of a 2013 BMW 328i xDrive suspected an impending timing chain failure. The vehicle was brought in for service, where a service advisor recommended an in-depth inspection. The owner declined the inspection due to costs.
The owner later reported a timing chain failure at 82,000 miles. It is unknown whether the vehicle received further service.
Timing Chain Failure

While driving, the owner noticed a “Check Oil” light. According to the driver, a “Drivetrain Failure” appeared minutes later and engine failure occurred an additional three minutes later.
Upon inspection by a BMW dealer, the service advisor noticed metal fragments in the oil but could not inspect further without engine disassembly. The owner speculates that a defective timing chain may have caused the issue.
So far, it is unknown whether repairs were made.
