What is the price of a BMW i8?

The 2020 BMW I8s MSRP ranges from $147,500 for the Coupe to $163,300 for the Roadster convertible. While there’s only a single trim, several performance, comfort, and convenience add-ons are available (for a price).

The price of a 2020 BMW i8 is nothing to sneeze at, so read on for more cost information on this plug-in performance prize.

The 2020 BMW i8 Coupe

In 2020’s iteration of the BMW i8, the Coupe and the Roadster convertible share mostly identical features. The upscale touches that come standard typically cost extra in competing vehicles.

They include leather upholstery, Apple CarPlay, 20-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone climate control, and power-adjustable and heated front seats. The standard Coupe model carries a price tag of $163,300.

Want to hear a little-known tidbit about the i8 Coupe? It’s available in a very limited Ultimate Sophisto Edition of just 200 cars. This elitist version has a final MSRP of $151,495, which includes a smaller number of Sophisto Roadsters as well.

For that price, you get the $995 destination charge and the Ultimate Sophisto Edition package that’s worth $3,000. Some of the extras include:

  • Comfort access system
  • LifeDrive technical platform
  • E-copper leather and accents
  • Ceramic controls
  • Driving assistant

The 2020 BMW i8 Roadster Convertible

If you don’t mind dishing out $163,000, the i8 roadster lets you spin with the wind. This luxury pop-top convertible comes packed with all the features of the standard Coupe. The higher price tag includes a powered soft top and glass rear-window/wind deflector.

For saving money instead of spending it, both i8 models qualify for state and federal tax credits. The hybrid powertrain also saves on the cost of EPA-imposed emission taxes. BMW tosses in its own wallet-lightening perk of complimentary scheduled maintenance for three years or 36,000 miles.

BMW i8 Options and Packages

A smattering of stand-alone options for the Coupe and Roadster take things up a notch. A splurge of $6,300 lights up your night with U-shaped Icon Adaptive Laserlight LED headlights. An aerodynamic kit provides extras such as a high-gloss black lip spoiler and front splitters for $500.

The i8’s super-sleek perforated leather interior comes in rich black or ivory-white colors, but you can plush it up even more. Dole out just $3,700 for BMW’s exclusive Tera World or Tea World Copper interior packages designs.

What do you get for that cash splash? For starters, you’ll sink into E-Copper or Tera Dalbergia Brown natural leather interiors. It also decks out your i8 with black brake calipers, Anthracite headlights, ceramic controls, BMW i-blue seatbelts and a leather engine cover.
