The Cadillac name is well-known for its luxury. But what about reliability? If you’re going to invest in a Cadillac, you want to know that it’s going to serve you well for years.

How reliable is the 2020 Cadillac?

The 2020 Cadillac line offers high reliability ratings from owners and experts alike. It earned the following awards and ratings:

Is a Cadillac right for you? We’ve compiled information about the latest run models from Vehicle History and the NHTSA to help you make the decision.

Cadillac and Luxury Go Hand-in-Hand

Cadillac holds the accolade of being one of the world’s first automotive brands. It was founded on the foundation of Henry Ford’s company in 1902. Cadillac got its name from Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac, the founder of the city of Detroit.

From its start, Cadillac strove to offer luxury as well as function in its vehicles. It introduced many technologies, like the V8 engine in 1915 and the first fully automatic cabin heating and cooling system in the 1960s.

Today, Cadillac remains the standard of luxury. Its sedans and SUVs are a status symbol for their owners. Cadillac reliability is also well-known as the manufacturer continues to add innovative designs to its vehicles.

The 2020 Cadillac Lineup

The 2020 Cadillac lineup has a decent number of vehicles in it. Here’s a look at the 2020 Cadillac reliability ratings for each one.

2020 Cadillac CT4

The luxurious 2020 Cadillac CT4 has no owner complaints. Its one recall, 20V588000, is for problems with the electronic brake boost assist problem, making it harder to stop the vehicle.

2020 Cadillac CT5

The 2020 Cadillac CT5 is affected by the same recall that hit the CT4. It also has a handful of owner complaints. These include:

  • Driver Assist and Forward Collision Unavailable code
  • Hard turning when turning right at high speeds
  • Driver Assist Warning triggering Check Engine Light

2020 Cadillac CT6

The CT6 is affected by recall 19V731000. This indicates the wrong wireless radio frequency used by the tire pressure monitoring system. This could allow the driver to drive with dangerously low pressure.

The CT6 has one official owner complaint about a scraping noise in the front brakes.

2020 Cadillac Escalade

This J.D. Power award winner is the largest of the SUVs Cadillac sells. It has just one recall, Recall 19V83700. This states that some 2020 Escalades have a missing pressure regulator on the fuel pump.

In addition, the SUV has one official complaint that the vehicle will not shift into reverse or drive consistently.

2020 Cadillac XT4

Though the XT4 has no customer complaints, it is under two recalls.

Recall 20V668000 indicates a missing bolt on the start-stop accumulator end cap. This could allow a transmission oil leak and increase the risk of a crash.

The second recall, 20V588000, indicates a communication problem between the sensor and the electronic brake boost assist technology. This makes it harder to stop the SUV.

2020 Cadillac XT5

The 2020 Cadillac XT5 has one recall and one official customer complaint. According to recall 20V446000, the roof rail airbag may fail to deploy in a crash.

One customer complained about strange electronic issues. While driving, they found the dash lights went to full intensity on their own. Then the rear windshield wipers engaged and warning indicators also started flashing.

Otherwise, this vehicle earns 5 out of 5 stars for safety from NHTSA.

2020 Cadillac XT6

Another vehicle with a five-star NHTSA safety rating, the Cadillac XT6 has two recalls and two complaints.

This SUV is included in recall 20V668000, which is for a missing bolt on the stop-start accumulator end cap. This is the same recall for the XT4. The XT6 is also under XT5’s recall 20V446000, which is for a roof rail airbag that may not deploy.

For customer complaints, one customer experienced intermittent electronic issues after replacing the battery. Another had a problem with a Service Safety Restraint System warning light flashing for no reason.

Use Vehicle History to Choose Wisely

Cadillac reliability is well-known. However, you can still have problems with a vehicle because of issues in its past. Before purchasing any Cadillac, check its Vehicle History.
