Purple 2021 Dodge Charger From Front-Driver Side

Are you in the market for a stylish, sporty car that has both the power and the look that you want? The Dodge Charger might be the right fit for you. When you’re thinking about buying a car, it’s key to think about how the value of your car will change over time.

Do Dodge Chargers hold their value?

The Dodge Charger will lose about 79% of its value over the first ten years (average MSRP of $38,557). The MSRP for the 2021 Dodge Charger ranges from $29,995 for the base SXT model all the way up to $36,995 for the top-of-the-line R/T model.

Doing your research before you buy a car is smart, and it’s easy to get caught up in the bells and whistles of your potential new vehicle. Don’t forget to consider how your car will depreciate over time—this will change the car’s resale value and affect how much you’ll be able to get when you trade it in years from now.

Here, we’ll explore how the depreciation of the Dodge Charger compares to competitors, what customers are saying about their experience with the Charger, and how much you can actually expect to pay if you decide to move forward with your purchase.

Does the Dodge Charger Hold its Value?

The Dodge Charger holds up well over time, and there’s nothing wrong with purchasing a lightly used vehicle. The Charger loses quite a bit of value as soon as it’s purchased new (up to $10,025), so purchasing a vehicle that’s a year or two old can save you a ton of cash.

Let’s take a look at how the depreciation of competing vehicles compare to the Charger.

Chrysler 300

  • Starting MSRP: $35,650
  • 10-Year Retail: $6,759

Chevrolet Impala

  • Starting MSRP: $31,323
  • 10-Year Retail: $6,938

Kia Stinger

  • Starting MSRP: $44,831
  • 10-Year Retail: $12,445

Customer Perception

There’s no doubt about it—Charger owners love their cars. Our drivers rate their Chargers as 4.95 out of 5 stars. Owners love the car’s smooth ride, powerful engine, spacious interior, and top-of-the-line safety features. Some customers complain about the gas mileage of the vehicle, however, especially when driving in a city setting.

2016 dodge charger rt blacktop.
My 2016 dodge charger r/t has been the most comfortable and reliable car I have ever owned. The rides are smoother than I could have ever expected before purchasing this vehicle. The acceleration and torque of the 5.7 liter engine has really excited and impressed me. 0-60 in around 5 seconds is a lot of fun and I feel confident any time I press the throttle. Gas mileage varies but is in the middle of the pack which is acceptable in a v8 motor of this size and strength. Heated seats are a must for the winter as well as the remote start capabilities. The connectivity of the usb port and bluetooth for mobile devices works perfectly and I have no complaints. The seating is spacious and comfy with plenty of arm and leg room. You could fit a family of 5 in this car very comfortably. The blacktop package is also a must in this trim because it adds twenty inch black rims as well as a angry, menacing spoiler which just completes the car.

2015 Blue Pearl Dodge Charger
I absolutely love my 2015 Dodge Charger. It has enough room inside to where your drive and ride is comfortable. These cars are built well, drive well and look absolutely stunning. I've never had any major repairs that needed to be done. Just basic maintenance. It's a very smooth ride as well. I've had a few people tell me how nice it rides. And if you want to have a little fun with it, you can!! It's got get up and go when you need to or sometimes just want to. Gas mileage is surprisingly good for it having a bigger engine. I don't think I will ever purchase a different brand vehicle. I love it just as much as the day I bought it.

2017 Destroyer Grey Dodge Charger Scat Pack
I owned a 2012 5.7L hemi R/T before trading it in for my current 2017 R/T 6.4L scat pack. The performance difference is like night and day with a noticeable increase in power and handling with the scat pack. The exhaust note is awesome and sounds better than any other exhaust I've heard. Many people ask if I upgraded the exhaust and are surprised to learn my scat pack is completely stock. It has all of the performance and stunning looks at a lower price compared to other cars with similar performance number. I consider this vehicle the best bang for your buck.

2019 dodge charger scat pack is a great ride with 395 horsepower.
My 2019 dodge charger is a great car! It is very reliable and gets decent gas mileage. Currently getting around 20 mpg. The back of the car is very spacious and has heated seats. The passenger and driver seats have heated and cooling seats along with a heated steering wheel. Perfect for the fall and winter. The scat pack is fast and loud! The dashboard has a lot of great features like a digital speedometer. Radio and Bluetooth work great as well.

Pros and cons to owning a 2018 dodge charger sxt plus.
The only problem that I have had with this car is that the glue on the passenger door panel inside the car becomes unglued and will start to smear on the window. It was an easy fix and didn’t cost much. The car runs very smooth and has enough power to get up and go but not too much power for it is uncontrollable. It is a great family car with it being a 4 door sedan. Great trunk space and great space for taller people that get in the car.

The 2017 dodge charger is fast, comfortable and reliable.
I have loved my charger! It has great power and handling, it is very comfortable to drive and as a passenger, and I have had no major problems. The only weird thing that has happened is when the car is not running there will sometimes be a beeping noise coming from the engine compartment and we have yet to figure out what it is. Also, the tires wore out so fast with normal driving behaviors and rotating the tires as prescribed.

The 2016 dodge charger is bold, muscular and loaded with heritage.
Burly v8 engines deliver big-time power and authentic muscle car attitude. Controlled and secure handling when going around turns. Many available options provide plenty of opportunity for personalization. Available all-wheel-drive traction for wet weather. Touchscreen tech interfaces are easy to use. Lower fuel efficiency of v8-heavy lineup. Hard to see out the back because of the small rear window and thick roof pillars.

Red dodge charger year- 2015.
I have not had any issues with my car up until this point. I love my car and think it is beautiful. It is obviously not the best on gas due to it being a sports car. It is reliable, comfortable, beautiful, and easy to drive. I have not had any major issues. Brakes etc last as long as they should. The car alerts me when the tires are low in pressure or if there is anything else occurring that should not be.

2015 Dodge Charger, great for families.
This car is a great larger sedan, it has plenty of room inside for the whole family to fit. It has Bluetooth capabilities that allow you to not only talk and text hands free you can also connect to listen to your own music. It is a larger car so it is on the higher price for filling the gas tank but it gets really good mileage so we do not typically have to worry about filling up more than once a week.

2018 charger r/t is a cool and cozy car.
I love my 2018 charger r/t because it is a really nice car. The car is really stylish, so you can ride in style. It has cool features inside the car. They also offered nice colors variations for this type of car. This car has 370 horsepower. It is a mid size so it is not really a family car if that is what you are looking for.

2016 Dodge Charger SXT with 40,000 miles.
My Dodge Charger SXT is the perfect mixture of power, family reliability and comfort. My vehicle is in good condition and will be a great main vehicle for me throughout the vehicles lifecycle. Although not equipped with the V-8 engine; the V-6 engine inside my vehicle has the right combination of power and gas efficiency.

2018 charger rt 370 hp is a boss.
Great sports car to start off and move up later. Fast and sounds great! Can't wait to upgrade to the next level. Great sport muscle car for 25000! Can't beat it! Nice interior as well. 370 hp can punch it at 65 mph and it still has jump in it! I would recommend this vehicle to anyone that wants the most for their money.

2019 dodge charger hellcat is a family muscle car with power and luxury.
The 2019 dodge charger hellcat is the most amazing sedan ever. It has not only the power of raw muscle, but it also has all the luxury needs and more inside. It is definitely a family car but a family muscle car that the whole family can enjoy. It is reliable and has excellent ratings.

2019 dodge charger: beauty in a strong package.
Beautiful car, runs fast especially with my custom twin turbo dual v8 engine, and I would recommend to anyone looking for a strong muscle car. Easily my favorite vehicle I have ever owned. I think the custom leather seats might be my favorite part, they provide comfort and flexibility.

Highlights of the Dodge Charger 2015.
No problems at all it's perfect and got a good price for it. I wasn't so sure about getting this car at first because I thought it was going to be really expensive like 30k-50k. It was actually affordable though.
