Shifter Cable Bushing May Detach From Transmission

NHTSA Recall ID: 19V293000

Chrysler has issued a recall for certain 2013-2016 Dodge Dart vehicles. Those vehicles affected are equipped with six-speed automatic transmissions.

The problem is that the shifter cable bushing could fail. If that happens, it would allow the shift cable to detach from the transmission. This recall began on September 5, 2019.

Chrysler has contacted owners, who are instructed to take their vehicles to a dealership for service. The transmission side shifter cable bushing will be replaced at no charge.

Power Brake Booster Contamination

NHTSA Recall ID: 15V800000

Chrysler has recalled certain 2013-2014 Dodge Dart vehicles. Those affected were manufactured between February 27, 2012, and January 23, 2014, and were equipped with either a 2.0L or 2.4L engine. The problem is that engine oil from the vacuum pump has the potential to seep into the brake booster, damaging a component within the brake booster.

This damaged component can cause loss of brake assist, lengthening the distance required to stop the vehicle as well as increasing the risk of a crash.

Chrysler has notified owners and instructed them to take their affected vehicles to dealers, who will inspect the brake booster grommet for the presence of oil. If no oil is found, the vacuum tube assembly will be replaced.

If oil is found, the vacuum pump, vacuum tube assembly, brake booster, and master cylinder will all be replaced. This recall began on May 9, 2016.

Transmission Control Module Failure

NHTSA Recall ID: 15V542000

Chrysler is recalling certain 2013-2015 Dodge Dart vehicles. Vehicles that are a part of the recall were manufactured between February 24, 2012, and June 16, 2015. This recall started on January 15, 2016.

Vehicles may experience failure of the transmission control module, which could cause the transmission to unexpectedly shift into “Neutral.” If that happens, the vehicle could experience loss of motive power, increasing the risk of a crash.

Chrysler has notified owners and asked them to bring their vehicles to a dealer for replacement of the transmission control module and bracket. This repair is done at no cost to the owner.

Owners who have additional questions about this recall may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403 and reference recall R42.

Side Airbags May Deploy Improperly

NHTSA Recall ID: 13V555000

Car Side Airbag

Chrysler is recalling certain model year 2013 Dodge Dart vehicles manufactured May 10, 2013 through August 24, 2013, and equipped with the Mopar 13 trim package. In vehicles affected by this recall, the front seat-mounted side airbag may not have been properly installed into the seat.

In the event of a crash that causes side airbag deployment, the side airbags may fail to deploy as intended. This failure has the potential of an increased risk of injury in the event of a crash.

This recall got underway on December 19, 2013. Chrysler has notified owners, who are asked to take their vehicle to a dealer. The dealer will inspect the side airbag installation and re-install as necessary, free of charge.

Engine May Stall in Cold Temperatures

NHTSA Recall ID: 13V238000

Certain model year 2013 Dodge Dart vehicles have been recalled by Chrysler. The affected vehicles were manufactured March 1, 2012 through February 28, 2013, and are equipped with a 1.4L MultiAir turbo engine and dual dry clutch transmission.

The problem is that the engine can stall, particularly when the temperature is 20 degrees F or colder. If the engine stalls while driving, it may increase the risk of a crash.

Chrysler has notified owners. Dealers will reprogram the powertrain control module at no charge to vehicle owners impacted by this recall. The recall began on July 22, 2013.

Fire Extinguisher May Be Clogged or Inoperable

NHTSA Recall ID: 17V824000

Chrysler is recalling certain 2015 and 2016 Dodge Dart vehicles equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button ‘Pindicator’ Fire Extinguishers. The problem occurs when the extinguisher becomes clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or requiring excessive force to activate the extinguisher.

In some models, the nozzle may even detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and become inoperable.

The recall began February 14, 2018. Chrysler has notified owners, asking them to contact Kidde for a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge.

Powertrain Control Module Missing Backup Software

NHTSA Recall ID: 16V113000

Certain model year 2016 Dodge Darts have been recalled by Chrysler. The problem occurs in cars manufactured July 25, 2015 through December 16, 2015 and equipped with a 2.0L engine and manual transmission.

Also included in this recall are certain 2015 Dodge Dart vehicles that are similarly equipped and brought in for dealer service between September 15, 2015 and January 12, 2016.

The powertrain control module that monitors engine torque output may be missing a backup layer of software in affected vehicles. This could result in the control module failing to prevent unintended torque, which could increase the risk of a crash. This recall got underway on March 25, 2016.

Chrysler has notified owners, who are being told to take their vehicles to dealers. Repair professionals will update the engine control module software at no cost to the vehicle owner.

Tire Pressure Monitoring System

NHTSA Recall ID: 14V800000

Certain model year 2015 Dodge Dart vehicles with Aero trim are being recalled by Chrysler. The issue stems from a malfunctioning tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) light, which alerts vehicle owners when a tire is improperly inflated.

In affected vehicles, the TPMS warning light may not illuminate, even when low tire pressure occurs.

If a tire is improperly inflated, it could lead to complete loss of tire pressure, which increases the risk of a crash. In addition, the faulty TPMS means these vehicles no longer comply with the requirements of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 138, “Tire pressure monitoring systems.”

Chrysler has notified owners, who are being asked to bring their vehicles to dealers for service. Dealers will reconfigure the vehicles from a lowline TPMS to a highline TPMS, completely free of charge. This recall began on January 27, 2015.

Windshield Wiper Circuit Failure

NHTSA Recall ID: 16V813000

Chrysler is recalling certain 2016 Dodge Dart vehicles that were manufactured between April 13, 2015 and June 7, 2016. The issue involves possible voltage spikes caused by a problem within the windshield washer pump. This could cause the wipers to malfunction, reducing visibility and increasing the risk of a crash.

This recall began on December 28, 2016. Chrysler has notified owners and let them know to take their affected vehicle to a dealer, who will replace the windshield wash pump at no cost.

Inoperable Parking Brake

NHTSA Recall ID: 13V124000

Certain model year 2013 Dodge Dart vehicles have been recalled by Chrysler due to an inoperable parking brake. Vehicles affected were manufactured on November 27, 2012. Some of these vehicles may have been built with the wrong rear brake calipers. This could result in an inoperable parking brake, allowing the vehicle to roll when parked, increasing the risk of a crash.

This recall began on April 29, 2013. Chrysler has notified owners, who are being asked to take the affected vehicle into a dealer. The incorrect brake calipers will be replaced, free of charge.

2015 Dodge Dart (Lemon)
I own a 2015 Dodge Dart. I have experienced the vehicle stalling multiple times early on. I have taken it to the Dealer in Ontario.Ca they claimed there was nothing wrong. We came to the conclusion that the vehicle burns oil quickly and when low the stalling occurs. The tire pressure system never seems to work. It is always up or down without reason and I have tried using the online source to have my recalls addressed, no one responds. I have a list of problems and repairs.but have not been able to reach a dealer by phone or website.
