Motorists rely on automakers to produce safe, dependable vehicles. But despite their best efforts to do so, there can still be issues. It’s not unusual for problems to arise long after a vehicle has left the assembly line. The good news is that when that happens, the manufacturer issues a recall alerting owners to bring their vehicle in for service.
How many recalls related to transmissions were issued for the Dodge Dart?
In total, there have been two recalls having to do with transmission problems. One involves 2013‒2016 Dodge Dart vehicles, while the other involves model years 2013‒2015.

Shifter Cable Bushing May Detach From Transmission
NHTSA Recall ID: 19V293000
Chrysler (FCA US LLC) has issued a recall for certain 2013‒2016 Dodge Dart vehicles that are equipped with six-speed automatic transmissions. The concern is that the shifter cable bushing could fail. This would allow the shift cable to detach from the transmission. This recall began on September 5, 2019.
Chrysler has contacted owners, who are instructed to take their vehicles to a dealership for service. The transmission side shifter cable bushing will be replaced at no charge.

Transmission Control Module Failure
NHTSA Recall ID: 15V542000
Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2013‒2015 Dodge Dart vehicles. Those affected were manufactured between February 24, 2012 and June 16, 2015. This recall began on January 15, 2016.
The concern is that these vehicles may experience failure of the transmission control module, which could cause the transmission to unexpectedly shift into “Neutral.” If that happens, the vehicle could experience loss of motive power, which increases the risk of a crash.
Chrysler has notified owners and advised them to bring their vehicles to a dealer for replacement of the transmission control module and bracket at no cost.
