Neither the NHTSA or the IIHS has put the Model S through all their crash tests. The IIHS has only checked its headlights and vehicle-to-vehicle front crash prevention system.
The headlights were given a “Poor” rating due to their low visibility on curves. The front crash prevention system, on the other hand, got the highest rating, a “Superior,” thanks to its rapid response times and crash mitigation abilities.
