Some Ford Fusion vehicles were fitted with a shift cable that detaches due to damage to a bushing holding that cable. This can allow the vehicle to appear to be in one gear and actually be in another.
Rollaway issues have been reported due to the vehicle seeming to be in Park but not actually being in that gear. This can lead to accidents and the chance for serious bodily harm.
Dealers will replace the shift cable bushing and address any reattachment issues to correct the problem.
