Limited-edition Ranger Splash Package and Splash Limited Editions will be Introduced Every Few Months
Like most truck enthusiasts, we are longtime fans of the legendary Ford Ranger pickup truck, which we’ve covered many times, including marveling over its engine options and specs. We’ve also discussed the popular midsize truck’s longevity as a daily driver and off-road beast, as well as the Ranger’s best years.
So, when Ford announced last fall the return of the 1990s-era Splash specialty packages and limited editions of the Ranger, we couldn’t wait to see the latest editions, which the Blue Oval revealed this week with the 2022 Ford Ranger Splash Package.
The Ranger Splash Package and the Splash Limited Editions are one-time-only colors that Ford plans to introduce every few months. Pricing for the 2022 Ford Ranger Splash Limited Edition packages are $1,495, and the new colors include:
- Snow Edition
- Forest Edition
- Sand Edition
“More than 80% of Ranger customers customize their Ranger with an appearance package, and with Splash, we’re giving them something exclusive,” said Chad Callandar, Ford Ranger’s marketing manager. “Every few months, we’re going to roll out another exterior color for Ranger that will be offered one time only and in very limited quantities.”
The Splash Package is available all model year and comes with body-side orange and black graphics and special 18-inch wheels in matte black. Ranger Splash includes an orange grille with gloss black accents and the interior features seats with orange contrast stitching. Orange contrast stitching also appears on the steering wheel, gear shifter, and parking brake boot. Lariat models get orange accent stitching on front and rear armrests and on the dash top. Plus, the Splash Package can be combined with the FX2 or FX4 Package to add more off-road capability.
Ranger Lariat Splash: Snow Edition Features Avalanche White Grille, Leather-trimmed Seats with Ash Gray Stitching
The first of the limited-run offerings is the Ranger Lariat Splash: Snow Edition. The Avalanche exterior paint color is enhanced by Magnetic accents and a white grille. Its leather-trimmed seats feature Ash Gray accent stitching and tuxedo stripes and bolsters, with additional black accents highlighting the interior. There will be a limited run of around 750 Splash: Snow Edition vehicles, which are due in the spring.
XLT Ranger Splash: Forest Edition has Forged Green Exterior, Red Grille, and Dark Accents Highlighting Interior
The second of the limited-run offerings is the XLT Ranger Splash: Forest Edition. The Forged Green exterior has Magnetic accents and a red grille. Unique ebony cloth seats feature Ash Gray accent stitching and carbon weave tuxedo stripes and bolsters, with additional black accents highlighting the interior. There will be a limited run of around 500 Splash: Forest Edition vehicles released this summer.
XLT Ranger Splash: Sand Edition’s Desert Sand Exterior is Complimented by Red Grille, Unique Black Cloth Seats
The third of the limited-run offerings is the XLT Ranger Splash: Sand Edition. The Desert Sand exterior paint color also features Magnetic accents and a red grille. Unique black cloth seats feature ash gray accent stitching and carbon weave tuxedo stripes and bolsters, with additional black accents highlighting the interior. There will be a limited run of around 500 Splash: Sand Edition vehicles hitting the market in the fall.
