A Quick History of the Kia Stinger

The Kia Stinger is a relative newcomer to the world of luxury sedans. Unveiled in 2017 at the North American International Auto Show, the vehicle has been promoted as a “street style icon” by GQ magazine.

Stinger designer Gregory Guillaume has said, “The new Kia Stinger is a true gran turismo, a car for spirited long distance. It’s not about outright power, hard-edged dynamics and brutal styling all at the expense of luxury, comfort and grace. The Stinger has nothing to do with being the first to arrive at the destination — this car is all about the journey.”

What Drivers are Saying about the Kia Stinger’s Reliability

The NHTSA lists two recalls for the 2020 Kia Stinger. The first recall is in regard to insufficient fuel supply caused by a problem with the jet nozzle housing assembling and the fuel pump. This can cause the vehicle to lose power, which can make it more likely that the driver gets into a crash. The second recall is for the power steering assembly, which can fail, increasing the likelihood of a crash.

Drivers report high reliability ratings. In the rare event that something does go wrong with this luxury sedan, drivers love that they’re able to visit a Kia dealership for repairs, rather than a more expensive car dealership typically associated with luxury cars.
