Lincoln Models: Which Is Right For You?

Luxury cars generally aren’t as big as they used to be. That’s not the case with many Lincoln models, which still have that classic big-car feel like the land-yachts you remember your grandpa driving back in the day. A 2020 Continental might not be quite as big as in 1970, but you’d hardly know it from the inside.

What Lincoln models are available?

Whichever Lincoln you wind up buying, you’re going to be getting the full Lincoln experience with a roomy interior styled like a mansion. Lincoln is still Lincoln. But which one of these cars matches your own personal ideal of luxury the best? Read on and find out.

Aviator: $48,413 – $81,799

One of the most spacious SUVs in its class, at 199.3 x 82.3 x 69.6 inches long, wide and tall, with 18.3 cubic feet of cargo capacity with all the seats up, and 77.7 without, you could just about take a nap on the floor.

The interior is everything you expect from a Lincoln. Soft-touch heated seats come standard, you get a leather steering wheel, and you can add a voice-activated entertainment system.

The really fun thing about the Aviator is the Twin Turbo V6 engine. You don’t expect a Lincoln SUV to move like this, but move it does.

Continental: $46,305 – $75,470

Blue Continental with lake view

For many drivers, this is the Lincoln. One of the great things about the Continental is they retained the look of the classic. They modernized it a bit, made it a little more aerodynamic. But the squared-off corners and bulky overall look are still there.

The Continental comes with a full suite of modern features like Lincoln Co-Pilot 360 blind spot, cross-traffic and lane-keep alerts, plus backup camera and traction control. But the general feel of it is just like the one you took road trips in as a kid.

Basic Specs:

  • MPG City/Highway: 17/26
  • Engine: 305 horsepower 3.7L Ti
  • Transmission: 6-Speed Automatic w/OD
  • Seating capacity: 5

Safety Ratings:

  • NHTSA: 5-Stars
  • IIHS: Good

MKZ: $31,817 – $45,436

Sporty but spacious, the MKZ sedan is an efficient modern car that feels like a classic Lincoln. Starting at under $32k, the MKZ is sort of an entry-level Lincoln, but an entry-level Lincoln is like an entry-level Rolex: It’s still a Lincoln.

The MKZ is a perfect combination of classic Lincoln design with modern features like AdvanceTrac electronic stability control and Lincoln Co-Pilot 360 lane-keeping aid and lane departure warning.

Basically, you take all the new tech that makes cars safer and more efficient, and you put that into a Lincoln, and you have an MKZ.

Basic Specs:

  • MPG City/Highway: 20/31
  • Engine: 245 horsepower Turbocharged 2.0L I
  • Transmission: 6 Speed Automatic w/OD
  • Seating capacity: 5

Safety Ratings:

  • NHTSA: 5-Stars
  • IIHS: Good

Corsair: $35,945 – $50,230

Blue corsair from front-driver side

Lincoln is known for their big cars, but the Corsair is a surprisingly tidy little compact SUV that feels bigger than it is. The really cool thing here is the Quiet Flight cabin design. You’ll swear you’re in first-class on a luxury jet.

The focus with the Corsair is all about width. That gives you the feel of a luxury cruiser without being quite as bulky and top-heavy as a lot of SUVs.

And you’ll love this: The door chimes were recorded by the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. How cool is that?

Basic Specs:

  • MPG City/Highway: 22/29
  • Engine: 250 horsepower Turbocharged 2.0L I
  • Transmission: 8-Speed Automatic w/OD
  • Seating capacity: 5

Safety Ratings:

  • NHTSA: 5-Stars
  • IIHS: Good

Navigator: $79,385 – $101,325

With up to 120.3 cubic feet of cargo space and an overall size of 221.9 x 79.9 x 76.2 inches, this is the Big Daddy of modern Lincolns models. This is what you use to pick clients up at the airport when you absolutely must make an impression.

Of course, with this Lincoln model you get soft-touch leather heated seats up front, and of course you get cruise control with steering wheel controls, five power outlets, seperate HVAC controls for the folks in the back, and an LCD monitor up front. This is a 5-Star hotel room on wheels.

Basic Specs:

  • MPG City/Highway: 16/21
  • Engine: 450 horsepower 3.5L Twin
  • Transmission: 10 Speed Automatic w/OD
  • Seating capacity: 7-8

Safety Ratings:

  • NHTSA: 5-Stars
  • IIHS: Good
