Red 2011 Tesla Roadster From Front-Driver Side

If you’re planning to invest in a powerful vehicle, one that can get to where it needs to go fast, then you may be interested in the Tesla Roadster. The 2021 model is perhaps the most exciting option with its ability to go 0 to 60 quickly. Before you buy it, make sure you know all of the specs.

What are the key features of the Tesla Roadster?

There are numerous must-see features, including:

  • 0 to 60 in 1.9 seconds
  • 620-mile range on this electric vehicle
  • 250 miles per hour as a top speed
  • Super-efficient function
  • Incredible styling inside and out

That’s an incredible speed for the Tesla Roadster. If you are after a vehicle like this, though, there’s more you need to know, including how it reaches those speeds. That’s what we will look at here. You can also check out other models of the Tesla Roadster at Vehicle History.

Overview of the Tesla Roadster

Let’s take a moment to discuss what the Tesla Roadster is. The vehicle is an all-electric, battery-powered engine. It has four seats. It was initially designed as a concept car and announced in late 2017.

The 2021 model finally reaches one of the biggest promises by the manufacturer — the ability to go 0 to 60 in 1.9 seconds. That makes it faster than any other street-legal vehicle in production today.

The Tesla Roadster for 2021 is the successor of the Roadster released in 2008. It has come much farther in its design and performance since that time. That model came to an end in 2011.

The owner of the company, Elon Musk, noted that a new version would be out that did not include the Lotus chassis. The concept for the 2021 Tesla Roadster 0 60 model was revealed by Musk to be a “hardcore smackdown to gasoline cars.

There is no doubt the Tesla Roadster has much to offer especially when it comes to speed. Yet, this car is full of technology and incredible materials, too.

Performance Features and Specs of the Tesla Roadster

How does it go from 0 to 60 in such a short amount of time? Though Musk often makes reference to a Space X-like design with rockets on the sides of the car, that’s not what turned out to be the case. First, let’s talk about the specs.

The acceleration from 0 to 60 miles per hour takes 1.9 seconds. Going from 0 to 100 only takes 4.2 seconds. Acceleration over a quarter of a mile takes 8.8 seconds. This vehicle can reach over 250 miles per hour (yes, it is street legal!). The wheel torque tops at 10,000 nm, and the vehicle gets an impressive 620-mile range.

All of this comes with a base price of $200,000 with a $50,000 reserve price. An upgraded model, called the Founders Series, sells for $250,000.

Price tag aside, there are a few things that help the 2021 Tesla Roadster perform so well. It has an all-electric design. It does not have a backup gas engine in it at all. That helps to reduce the weight of this car considerably. It also has an aerodynamic design.

The engineering on the body helps shave seconds off that speed time. In fact, the designers have noted this is one of the biggest factors in helping the vehicle reach these record-setting performance levels.

The vehicle features a 200-kWh battery that can hit that driving range. That’s not going to be a level where the vehicle can reach every time. That’s the highest range of possibilities. There are no EPA fuel ratings for this vehicle as of yet, but there’s sure to be an impressive figure once it is revealed.

Other Notable Features of the Tesla Roadster

Aside from what’s under the hood, there are a number of other notable features, including a few that support the speed performance of the car. The interior is designed to provide performance support.

It is durable and comfortable, but it is also very lightweight. It is designed to fit four riders inside, and while there are no specs on actual roominess, chances are good the vehicle will not have a lot of legroom.

Another nice and super cool feature is the glass room. Skip the moonroof and go for a glass room. Even better, it’s removable. You can take it off, put it in the trunk, and enjoy an open-air convertible experience on a whim if you would like to. The glass itself is super lightweight, which, of course, also contributes to the vehicle’s efficiency.

There are not a lot of details about the vehicle’s technology inside. It’s not likely that these vehicles will offer any type of Android Auto or Apple CarPlay features simply because no other Tesla does. However, you can expect it to have solid technology and an impressive, large touchscreen display for any of your connectivity needs.

There’s also no insight into the actual driver-assist features, if any, that will be on board at the time of this writing (October of 2020). However, it probably offers Autopilot, the semi-autonomous driving system that Tesla has created. That’s going to provide features like lane-keeping assistance, pedestrian detection, automated emergency braking, and more.

The Pros and Cons of the Tesla Roadster

It would be nice to have some first-person accounts of what the vehicle has to offer, but the 2021 Tesla Roadster 0 60 model has not yet been put into consumers’ hands.

That’s okay, let’s take a look at what Vehicle History consumers had to say about older models of the vehicle. The biggest benefit is that super-fast speed but also the fuel efficiency in older models. This vehicle goes further than that.

Should You Buy the Tesla Roadster?

Does the Tesla Roadster 0 60 setup impress you? If so, you may want to take a closer look at this vehicle in person. You can learn more about it and previous models of the Tesla Roadster by checking out Vehicle History. It’s the right place to start.
