It is very spacious and offers a good and controlled driver with all wheel drive. The safety features on the car are really good there is an automated emergency brake system and a system that lets you when you diverge from a lane and everything, which is very helpful.
Sometimes the rear door gets stuck and does not open, but that is an easy fix. It does not let you open the trunk with the key fob or the inside button. When that happens I have had to go to the dealerships or just make sure the hold button is in the right position.
The forester is AWD so good in snowy and rainy conditions. It is also good on gas. The safety ratings are also good. Design is nice and simple and the ride is nice and smooth. Sound system is good. Panoramic sunroof is a nice feature.
Because of Subaru's quality there was no negotiation room on the purchase price. The helpful features such as brake assist are annoying at times. If you do not want the eco mode on you have to turn it off EVERY TIME you get in the car.
It has 4 wheel drive. A clear back up camera. Durable Leather seats. The Sunroof is very nice. I also really love the smooth drivetrain. It is a great car for dogs and for my new child. A great family friendly car!
The cons of the vehicle are that sometimes it is hard to clean. Other than that this vehicle does not have any other cons that I can think of. I have had it for a year and it has been a great vehicle for our family.
It really is an upgrade from Subaru's lineup even just a few years ago. The Forester is the perfect size--not too big, but not too small, with a little extra height to make things easier--and the perfect amount of power to deal with weather conditions in all four seasons. Your commute will be comfy because this trim comes with every upgrade that you didn't think you needed but then immediately could no longer live without. I use the app on an almost daily basis to turn my car on remotely and set the climate controls to the perfect temperature. It has all of the bells and whistles that you actually need and use.
The sensors are temperamental, and you never know if the automatic braking is going to have a bad day and slam on the breaks on the highway because a leaf looked at it funny. Sometimes, all of the electronic systems make it nearly impossible to diagnose or treat a straightforward problem. My battery has already died once in the first three months of ownership. I cannot imagine that these electronic systems and sensors are going to age well.
Sporty, economical, comfortable seating, like the side mirror auto detection feature, the rear camera screen is big and alerts you to oncoming vehicles. The front collision system alert is very helpful too.
The gas mileage is a bit lower than I had hoped for. If you are a short person, getting into the front seats requires you to enter differently. You have to face the door and sit in the seat first and swivel your body around to sit comfortably.
My favorite pros are the Apple Car Play, nice backup camera, & vehicle health reports. I also like that I can get a more "Luxurious" package through the SEL opposed to having to pay for the Titanium package.
It is not very competitive in gas, with other vehicles this size. The tire monitor does not tell you which specific tire is causing issues. My liftgate does not fully close when I press the button. I'd like to see more driver safety features that competitors have, such as alerting when approaching a subject too quickly, front view cameras, and adaptive cruise control.
I like that it includes all of the safety features like collision awareness. I drive children and need to be a safe driver. I also like that when you put the lights on automatic the brights will show when needed.
The Driver seats does not have a button that can remember my seat setting. I also do not like how long the A/C takes to get cold. The horn could be louder. And there's is not a lot of space in the backseat.
Fuel economy, easy to drive, great features like blind side warning and collision warning, comfortable for travel. Love the sync, especially for my phone. Navigation is spot on. Auto lift gate is a must have.
I can't honestly think of any cons. This is our second escape and we would most likely buy escape again. I guess if you are looking for an SUV, the only con would be the size especially if you want to use it to haul cargo.
