Lots of cargo space with an optional 3rd row, has many enhanced safety features like lane assistance and beeps when I get too close to a car in front of me. Has seat warmers, AWD, nice sleek design. Captains chairs in 2nd row with a tray table.
No parking assist. There is not a hands free way to open the back trunk. No steering wheel warmer and no ambient lighting throughout. No entertainment system like a DVD player for my child to watch programs while we travel.
The Toyota Highlander is a reasonable price compared to many other SUVs on the market. I picked this car because it is the few on the market that has bucket seats in the second row. My other favorite parts are that there are no carpeted floors and I like the moonroof.
I do not like a lot of things in this car (and compared to my prior GMC's). The first is that there is no monitor of the tire pressure in each tire. When get a low tire pressure light, you have no idea which tire is the problem. The gas mileage is not great (but many SUVs are not either). The third row seems to be much smaller than my GMC. I do not like the way the transmission is sometimes. Feels a little jerky.
Great on saving gas, the look is very nice compared to previous years, leather seats, comfort, how much power it has, and best of all how much room it has with the 3rd row seats when needed, and very roomy in general.
I cannot think of any cons for this vehicle. I have only had it a year and a half, and so far no big problems, except for the radio display panel wouldn't work right after I bought it, buy Toyota took care of it right away.
PROS: 360 camera. Big screen. GPS. Bluetooth. XM Radio. Heated seats and steering wheel. Air conditioned seats. Window shades. Easy to drive and park. Third row. Captain Seats. Safety Sense. Predictive cruise control.
Super small third row. Really only children can fit in it. GPS works but can be frustrating in the city and is not as good as phone GPS. Honestly past those two things I do not really have anything else bad to say. I really love my car and it fits our family needs.
This vehicle has a great design, and the touring system is easy to navigate and nicely done. This vehicle has many useful safety features, including cameras and a braking system. Honda is an excellent brand in general. Gas mileage is above average. There's also lots of room for cups and other things kept in a car. I love that you can have a 'driver 1' and 'driver 2,' and seats can be set for those drivers so no manual adjustment is necessary.
There are hardly cons in my opinion, but there are a few small things. Sometimes we will use the 'driver 1' key and the car will be set to the 'driver 2' seat setting. Sometimes the system will auto brake when I am clearly in control and was going to stop and would have made it to stop by far. There are a few instances where the car automatically came to a full stop in an unnecessary situation, but nothing too drastic. The car is a machine and not 100% perfect. These things are small and not very bothersome. Gas mileage could also be better but we drive the car much more than average.
Heated seats and seating room. Leather, sunroof, back up camera, lane changing camera. The way it drives, navigation, radio interface, climate controls. Fuel capacity and range. All wheel drive. The versatility.
I do not have any cons for this vehicle. It has been reliable. I have had no major breakdowns or issues. The parts are holding up great. The interior holds up to all temperatures. I think Honda did a great job with the pilot.
The interior panel is user friendly. The ride is very smooth. We use Honda specifically because we have a good long standing relationship with Honda. We have driven many of them without any problems. So I was looking for a higher end SUV. Honda which was the pilot.
The battery shorted out the first week I bought it. There was a loose connection and the car died out in the middle of a busy street blocking traffic. There was no explanation given to me as to why it happened. It couldn't even be pushed to the side of the road because we couldn't put it into gear. There should be some sort of system override so you can get the car into a gear that can allow it to be pushed.
The Honda pilot is extremely safe, it is roomy with a good amount of legroom in the middle row. The seating is very comfortable. It drives quiet on the road, drives smoothly and gets pretty decent gas mileage. There are 4 sets of car seat latches, so it is an ideal family car. There is a big backup screen. It has USB ports, Bluetooth capability and many input options.
Our family has been driving a Honda pilot for the past 5 years. It fits our family so well. We can pack up and go. There is room for the dogs in the back and it is so easy to maintain. At this point in time, I do not have any cons of this vehicle.
