The 2001 Jeep Wrangler with the 2.5L 4Cylinder engine useS4 quarts of SAE 10W-30 oil, or with the 4.0L 6 cylinder engine it useS6 quarts of SAE 10W-30. Jeep recommends using synthetic oil whenever You need to change it for greater protection. Oil comes in the two major varieties, conventional and synthetic. Conventional is made with petroleum and synthetic is engineered in a lab using chemicals to give You better lubrication properties. Synthetic oil also breaks down slower than conventional, this means You can usually go 7,500 miles between oil changes compared to 3,500 to 5,000 with standard. Check the oil in Your Wrangler at least once a month so that You can make sure it is full and free from signs of damage.
