The type of oil that is recommended to be used in the 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe iS-10W-30 Synthetic. The capacity for the vehicle iS4.5 quarts with a filter for the 2.4 L 4Cylinder, 4.8 quarts with a filter for the 2.7 L V6 and 4.6 quarts with a filter for the 3.5 L V6 engine. Oil is used to help keep the engine clean and to lubricate engine parts to help with friction for when the rub together. The oil and the filter should be changed 12,000 miles or 1 year, whichever comes first. The cost of a change is around $20 to $30 in labor costs if taken to a mechanic. It is pretty simple to do a change and can be done in under 20 minutes.

For all the engine options available in the 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe all use the following viscosities: below 95 F (5W30/5W40), above -9 F (10W30/10W40/10W50), and above 32 F (20W40/20W50). The 2.4L inline-4 base engine requires 4.5 quarts of oil, the 2.7L V6 optional engine needs 4.8 quarts of oil, and the 3.5L V6 optional engine uses 4.6 quarts of oil.
