The 2015 Nissan Altima useS4.8 quarts of oil in the 4Cylinder and 5 quarts with the V6 engine, both engines take SAE 0W-20. Nissan recommends that You use synthetic oil whenever You need to change it. The most common types of oil on the market these days are synthetic and conventional. Conventional is an older type of oil that is petroleum based and synthetic is newer and designed to give You better wear protection and longer life than conventional. This means You should only need to change synthetic every 7,500 miles compared to 3,500 to 5,000 with conventional. I recommend that You inspect Your oil at least once a month to make sure that it is full and in good condition.
