The 2017 Subaru Forester came standard with a 2.0L 4Cylinder engine but there was also the option to upgrade to a larger 2.5L 4Cylinder engine. Both models of this vehicle will have a maximum towing capacity oF-1500 pounds. The tongue weight capacity for this vehicle will be 390 pounds. The torque output is where these models will differ. The smaller 4Cylinder engine will have a torque rating of 174 lb-ft while the larger engine will be able to put out 258 lb-ft. Being limited in towing capacity this vehicle will only be able to pull smaller trailers maybe with a couple dirt bikes or ATVs on it. Small travel trailers or tent trailers will still be able to fall in under the weight limit.
