There is a known issue for the 2014 Chevy Cruzes involving the valve cover. They could fail which could end up damaging the engine. This was never fixed with an official recall. Chevy instead put out a technical service bulletin. When an issue occurs but is not extremely wide spread they will do the technical service bulletin instead of a recall. This can be frustrating for some owners who are effected by it but at the same time it means not every owners is going to have to deal with this issue. To see if You are effected by this issue You should take Your vehicle in to Your dealership or a mechanic.

Although gm did not issue a recall for the valve cover of the 2014 chevy cruze they did issue a tsb, and owners experiencing excessive oil consumption and other indicative factors related to this issue may get it fixed at a dealer under the new tsb.
