The 2006 HyundaiAzera has a timing chain that is on the engine. This is a better option in my opinion compared to a timing belt that would have to be replaced. Timing belts need to be replaced every 60,000 to 100,000 miles but a timing chain should be able to last You over 300,000 miles with no problems. Either of these options are there to keep the timing correct on Your engine and if they were to break they could cause serious damage. It is a good idea to check Your timing chain at least once a year. During this check You will want to make sure that it is still tight and free from any debris that could damage it or the gears.
