There are not many reported problems with the 2011 Ford Raptor. The number one issue that people report is poor fuel economy on the 6.2L version. The 6.2L engine consumes a lot of fuel, and being tuned for a sporty driving experience can lead to even more fuel consumption. This can often lead to the vehicle not meeting the estimated ratings that were set by the EPA when it was sold new. Another common problem that is mentioned just has to do with the shocks failing. Since they are off-road oriented shocks they are designed to be replaced from time to time and they are more expensive to replace than standard shocks.

I bought a 2011 Raptor in 2016 with 19k miles on it. I can tell you that you don't by the Raptor for the awesome fuel mileage, and if you did then you had one hell of a salesman take you to the cleaners. This is a sport truck that's extra wide and has suspension upgrades. It also it has all the creature comforts of the other F-150 trucks with a monster drivetrain. I would not hesitate to purchase another one, mine has 105k miles on it with zero issues. Like anything else, it's all about taking care of the vehicle with regular preventive maintenance and following the recommended work when its due.

Poor gas mileage is the biggest complaint about fuel-hungry raptors; other issues include trouble starting, and less-than-stellar engine power.
