The owners manual for the 2013 INFINITI JX35 says that the camshaft operation is performed by a timing chain and not a timing belt. This isn't much of a surprise as a luxury brand like INFINITI is less likely to cut corners by using cheaper parts to keep the price down. A timing chain may be more expensive to manufacture but it's a very sturdy part and owners won't have to worry about replacing it every 60,000 miles or so like they would with a belt. The chain is kept lubricated and functioning properly from Your engine oil so following the proper maintenance and not letting Your oil pressure get too low is essential for keeping this part from failing. -
