Yes, the 2016 Hyundai Sonata has a fuel filter. It's located near Your fuel tank, of all places. It's a good idea to keep Your filter clean or replace it when it's clogged or old. It's recommended that You change it out every 30,000 to 40,000 miles, regardless. You can purchase the Duralast Fuel Filter FF692DL from AutoZone for around $19. Remove Your rear seat cushion and the access panel, and then relieve the fuel system pressure by disconnecting the fuel pump module connector. Start the engine, and let it run until it stalls, then turn it off. You'll now disconnect Your negative battery cable. Go to Your fuel tank on the passenger side, and You'll see the fuel filter underneath it. Disconnect the fuel supply and the pressure lines and then You can remove the fuel filter bracket and finally, the fuel filter itself. Put the new one on, and do the reverse of the above steps to complete installation.

Yes, the 2016 Hyundai Sonata has a fuel filter. It's located in the fuel tank, shaped like a sock and is designed to self-clean when you add fuel.
