Does the 2017 Nissan Altima have a timing belt or chain?

The 2017 Nissan Altima comes with a timing chain on the engine to keep the timing accurate on the cam gears. This is a better option than a timing belt in my opinion because it needs less servicing. A timing belt is one of the most expensive pieces of regular maintenance that You will need to do on Your car and with a timing chain You should not have to replace it. A belt needs to be replaced every 60,000 to 100,000 miles, and a chain should be good for over 300,000 miles. I still recommend that You check Your chain at least once a year to make sure that it is free from damage and it is not loose.
